I'm sure you meant when she first got her period. Lactating is when a woman gets milk in her breasts.

Actually Larry, it's entirely possible for a woman to lactate without ever being pregnant. Usually when this happens it's caused by a severe hormonal imbalance, but sometimes it can be triggered simply by excessive stimulation. I recommend you research induced lactation. :)
