Or did the author just 'forget' to inform us in chapter 1 that Trent and Maggie were divorced? Sloppy in either case.

"I still don't know what I did wrong" Trent laments. Really? Trent told us readers that his wife had tired of his laziness and his habit of ignoring her and so on. There's a hint there...

I guess this was meant to have more chapters, the story is pretty uninteresting as it stands. For example, what kind of fetish are we meant to see here?

The whole thing would benefit greatly from the loving touch of an editor.
