I am not a fan of constant broken English in stories, or constant swearing. It seems to fit these characters. I believe this is the way they would talk if you met them in real life. I enjoyed the first story in this series, and I believe this is the best story you have ever written. I am embarrassed to say I even got a little misty eyed there at the end, for reasons you know. I think this story deserves to be ranked among the best ever. You're still a brat, though.

is meant to be a compliment, but shows a lack of understanding that character development is more important than research. Saying you rival Dale Brown apparently is also meant to be a compliment, but is a near-unforgivable insult. Please placate Needles and Monster--tell them that the fellow meant well, that he knows not what he did. Give them a more important mission, that should sufficiently distract them. Then tell us about it, of course.

One complaint. I really wanted Monster to be back up, just because. The Shack series is awesome. You some how make the unbelievable, believable. Please keep writing. I hope someday you put it all together for a book or a series of books.

But your hero obviously needs a set of Metrinch sockets. They are kind of expensive but worth it. They each work on the proper closely sized metric and English sizes because they grab the "sides" of nuts and bolts rather than the corners. Rounded corners are no problem as long as the nut isn't completely round.

I've had my set for 40 years and haven't broken one even though I mostly use them with strong impact drivers now. :-)

There are a few good authors that post here.

Excellent authors however, are "rarer than hen's teeth" as grandpa would say. You're most definitely in that last category. As always, excellent story, excellently done.

Love this series...a bit over the top (do you think?), but a fun read.

This is my favorite of your storylines. What I enjoy mpst about it is how genuine the characters are and how you have a group of people who are scarred in different ways but come together to form a family and heal eachother. I can wait for your next adventure with this family. This a series that is absolutely worthy of being published to mainstream audiences. There is so much potential for more experiences for Les, Delaney and Sheree (and now tiffany and Tara), as well as whatever happens to charli. But even after that it would be exciting to see what happens if Delaney were to grow up and become a body guard or someone who finds and prevents kidnappings (which you did an EXCELLENT job of foreshadowing in this story the potential for a future with these characters).

The times between your postings are spent waiting for real life to give you a chance to post again.

Thank you for The Shack series and its forerunners. And thank you Missus for getting involved in your stories.

That was wonderful! I loved the distinctive characters and the happy ending. It was really nice to see Tara and Tiffany finally realise the kind of scum Charlotte and Charles were, reconciling with their father again.

Seeing Charles' world fall apart was very satisfying, especially with him eating a bullet at the end. It looked like all three daughters had disowned their evil mother, but I doubt that would hurt Charlotte too much, she seemed to be too self-centred to give much of a crap about her daughters. I guess the scandal over her husband's death would probably hurt her more, with the loss of status and notoriety over his crimes.

I think I've enjoyed these two stories more than any of the others I've read on this site and I have read thousands over the years. Well done.

Would be that it would nice if the characters in the story got a little more "action". I'm sure Sheree's got to be rewarding Les for keeping their baby safe. After all, this story isn't in the non-erotic section.

It is applicable to this story. As Todd knows, Randi is not a fan of military stories. I am able to admire a nicely turned phrase, a compelling plot and winsome characters. This has all of those. I told Todd that I felt this was a top five HOF story, and it appears that it may land there. If not, it should. This was emotional, adventurous and written at a break-neck pace. Well done, and I gave it a five, of course. Thanks for writing this great story, Randi.

This series shows real promise. I would thoroughly enjoy a series of this pair. In fact This would make for a very good series for Netflix or Amazon Prime to start a series with. With the language it probably wouldn't make it to prime time television on a network. Keep up the stories.

normally would easily be worthy of a 5*; however, since there is no sex, no wife (except for tangential mention of the hero's ex-wife) and mostly violence, I wonder why this story is in literotica at all, let alone Loving Wives. That is not in any way a slam on the story, because I much enjoyed reading it and never would have gotten the chance if it wasn't in Loving Wives, and the author is very talented. It is just that putting the story here seems to be against what literotica and Loving Wives are about.

Are you trying to live up to your namesake? What's it to you where, or if, a story appears? Have you been harmed, in some way? You said it was an entertaining story. Evidentially, the very vast majority of readers here find the story to be quite to their liking. The management here allows us a wide latitude to post stories where we believe they belong. I, for one, am grateful. As a writer, I would think you would be grateful as well. Not everyone is here, especially in this category, to read stroke material. Some of us happen to enjoy just a good story, no matter the sexual content. You post your stories where you think they belong and leave the rest of us the same opportunity. Read the damn story and enjoy it, or don't. Your business. Where others post their stories isn't your business.

Sooooo good. The writing is ridiculously good. Characters have depths and substance. Plot, pacing, everything. All good. Should be a rating higher than 5 stars.

I second each one and drop my 5 with zero hesitation.

Charlotte is the only character that does not seem real to me. She had the opportunity to begin a trail of redemption and Delaney nixed that. If there were a way you could somehow deal Charli into the mix at the end as evidently broken, starting on a new path or somewhere inbetween it might add some more depth to this ridiculously good story.

It is so damn hard to offer you constuctive criticism because there is really nothing wrong. I feel like I am asking Steinbeck to make Lenny a little more worldly or Michelangelo to give David some bigger guns.

Your comment seems a bit odd to me. The actions of the ex-wife aren’t tangential, they are sine qua non for the story.

Additionally, the level of eroticism in LW varies widely. There are some stories that are little more than a yank fest and then there are stories with little to no sex. There are many examples of both and plenty of stories in the middle, which indicates to me that the powers that be at literotica are happy allowing the full spectrum.

Of course, you, like every other reader are entitled to your opinion. Personally, I appreciate the variety.

...to everyone. If these stories are worth reading at all, it is due to a lot of people. The Missus, of course; she's beautiful, brilliant and very supportive. The beta readers and editors I've mentioned keep it at least somewhat understandable - you wouldn't believe the amount of work they do. Many of them are writers themselves and pass on hard-learned lessons selflessly. And these wouldn't have happened at all if it wasn't for the encouragement I've gotten from the readers.

If this isn't your kind of story, that's fine; there are some amazing writers on Literotica; keep looking, there is something for nearly everyone here somewhere. TexasTallTales, PapaToad, for instance.

For those of us who are not “special” like you are, we don’t have the luxury of having our stories always posted where we wish them to be. I have had 3 stories removed from the category I put them in without my permission – but I guess that doesn’t happen to “special” people like you, so I guess I better shut up.

Also, I’m sorry I mentioned that Todd’s story had mostly violence and nothing even remotely erotic. I had several stories bounced back for being too violent, including one where I merely had two people held – unrestrained – within a cabin for a month with all the food, water, and fresh air that they needed. That was bounced back twice. I guess I should just have had more than a dozen people killed like Todd did, including a dozen or so burned alive. Now that you’ve properly chastised me I’ve learned my lesson.

In case you’re too stupid to realize that the above is sarcasm, let me make this clear to you. I will not just “Read the damn story and enjoy it, or don't…Where others post their stories isn't your business.” No rational person – and obviously you don’t fall into that category – would think that Todd’s story is erotic or about wives; it is a macho violent story. It didn’t even belong on literotica, let alone Loving Wives. If this story had been treated the same way mine are it would have been transferred to non-erotic, or bounced from literotica completely. So f--- ---; wait; I better not say it because you’re “special” and I sure wouldn’t want to be chastised for insulting someone as “special” as you are.

You seem to believe that you, instead of the owners of the site, should be the arbiter of what gets published in LW. Your story got moved, so Todd's should as well. Got it.

It doesn't seem to matter to you that a significant percentage of stories in this category come with the opening disclaimer of "There is no sex in this story." and that the child at the heart of this story is in peril because she's the result of extramarital sex (hence, LW).

You also seem to be irked that Randi is 'special'. If it helps, I think that you're special to, and I certainly don't mean that as a euphemism for cognitively impaired.

It does matter what everyone thinks. I think it is relevant that, despite those who want to claim, proclaim, insist, that the ratings have nothing to do with the true quality of a story, the really good stories tend to get high ratings. This story was so well done in so many ways on so many levels. Thank You for some great entertainment.

And you know what's really sweet? Its not a great story because of who wrote it, who edited it, or what somebody with self-proclaimed "credentials" thinks about it. Its a great story because the unwashed uneducated clueless masses love it. It its true for all truly great classic art. People will continue to read Shakespeare and Jane Austin for the next several hundred years, while 50 Shades Of Grey will be forgotten, or mistaken for a Sherwin Williams sample brochure.

Your whole Shack series is a classic work. I hope you have the time and energy to continue it as inspiration compels.

You're certainly not alone in getting stories turned back for violence, or recategorized. I've had a number of them, as has nearly every writer I know on the site. The Marker, The Song of Farwalker and Deadgirl, Soldier Girl and The Secret Life of Secretaries are all in different categories than I submitted them. As far as I am concerned, it's just part of the process. Randi is an incredible editor, and it might make my life easier if she had a say in category and rejection, but she does not.

The Shack series is in LW primarily because that is where it began and the Admins courteously allow me to keep the series together so the readers who enjoy them can more easily find them. I appreciate that.

As to the violence, the rules refer to violence or torture for sexual gratification, which certainly isn't the case in any of these. You can ping me on the author feedback if you really want to hear my misadventures with story rejection. I've had to do a few rewrites. One helpful tip: graphic cannibalism, even historically and archeologically supportable, is apparently a hot button for rejection. Who knew?

If you're looking for sex, TexasTallTales is certainly one of the best, I think "Almost Caught" is nearly perfect. Or you might try FeatherWatt's "Mitten" series in Lesbian if you're okay with blue-on-blue. It's heavy on sex and hilarious to boot. As I've said in other places, if this didn't suit there is a lot of great stuff out there.

I loved the piece about the wrench slipping and not listening to advise. Remined me of when I was working on loosing the distributor on my Jeep, and my dad telling me I should disconnect the negative battery cable, as the warning sticker advises (its a 24V military system). I wished I had listened to him when I touched the hot lead to the starter with a wrench a few moments later.....
