Yes always record meetings with bosses. It's easy everyone has it built in the cell phone why wouldn't you? It makes good black mail material for those times of some political agenda tries to stall your career. Ok we don't know if she really did discuss her sex life with her boss as its never said so its completely possible he said that to get under the husband skin 2 physical intimacy a hand on the shoulder and her not shaking it off does make it seem like there is or at least was a intimacy between the 2 but not necessarily a physical intimacy so far there isn't 3 strikes so far technically no strikes now the doubting of what the husband was saying is a red flag no doubt about that i mean i can understand wanting proof of it before quitting her job especially if she liked her job and just quitting could stop her from getting another job in the same field but leaving with her husband and talking it out and figuring out what to do is another thing in general which she didn't do until she heard the recording so yes red flag slightly but still a red flag and strike 1 so with a lot of talking things out between them 2 they can make there marriage work now the moment 1 of them suggest marriage counseling is the moment the marriage is dead cause its nobody damn business besides the husband and wife if there is a problem with the marriage that is personal that should stay between the husband and wife and nobody else that could use that information to fuck your marriage up a marriage counseling is not needed to save a marriage in fact all they are is a scam they are lying cheating thiefs

Great story. Some readers are overreaching looking for her already being on thr path to cheating. Missed the pint of the story. If you have to fill in the gaps with your own insecurities and distrust then write you own. 5 stars.

I liked the story but the husband should not feel good about the wife's reaction. She, for one has to hear the recording to change her tune. This read for me that the wife was into the bosses praise and she is maybe inclined to talk about her married sex life with the douche' bag boss. The recorder in his pocket, I like because I have carried one in my pocket for the last twenty years, and use it anytime I have an issue with a customer, or fire an employee, or spend anytime in a private setting with a member of the opposite sex. Protect your business and reputation at all costs.

Also, female employees, and some men too, tell me way too much about their spouses and sex life. It is so disrespectful, so as a reader I didn't feel that the wife may have shared spousal information with her boss because it happens.

Pummel187 I agree and don't agree at the same time the hand on the shoulder and her not being bothered by it could say there is a intimacy between the of the type that should not be between a boss and employee while not physical more emotional could make her a cheater yes but no proof really and a touch on the shoulder could be nothing so not really even emotional so not cheating however the main thing is her not leaving with her husband when he said let's go she didn't believe her husband when he said what her boss said and had to have proof by way of the tape recording that is a red flag while might be slight still enough to evidence to convict someone of a crime so it's enough evidence that she is at very least having a emotional affair which is worse than a physical affair so with that being said it's 50/50 on Rather or not she's cheating it depends upon the person's point of view

Debbie has been working with her boss for a while now. When you have 2 people working together, they do get used to being in the personal space of each other. To have him touch her shoulder, after so long, is not surprising if he is attempting to get her to trust him, and he is attempting to get closer. This can create the false sense of comfort and security she has when he places his hand on her shoulder at that table. Is it unprofessional? ABSOLUTELY. However, it does happen in the workplace.

Another aspect is that her boss has been "Grooming" Debbie and "Mentoring" her for a long enough period of time that she is questioning Michael, her husband, while defending her boss. This shows that Debbie and the Boss have had a longer relationship to grow that sense of loyalty that she shows while defending him.

If I were Michael, I would have a VERY LONG, VERY THOROUGH discussion with Debbie at home, regarding EXACTLY her relationship with her boss, and point out the potential emotional affair/business relationship she might be having with him.

Then there would be a conversation with an attorney, regarding workplace harassment and sexual harassment against her boss and the company. Then a personal lawsuit against her boss for sexual harassment.

If Debbie does continue to show her loyalty after listening to the recording, then it might be time for Michael to discuss a divorce from her, with charges of alienation of affection against her boss.

To the anon about a month ago mostly I agree with you the husband most definitely needs to have a conversation with her and yes that does happen in the work place a lot I can understand how someone including my husband phoenixlore1981 can say him putting his hand on her shoulder and her not even reacting to it could mean she is having an emotional affair with her boss at the very least and her not even believing her husband and openly saying she didn't does give enough grounds to believe she's having an affair again at very least emotional and like my husband said a emotional affair is worse than a physical affair though some men and women don't believe so but most women would think it is and would be pissed and want a divorce if they find out there husband is having a emotional affair for that means there is romantic feelings and some love between the 2 I don't condone cheating of any kind and would divorce my husband in a heart beat if he was to cheat on me but while I would divorce him and not reconcile I could eventually forgive him for a physical affair but never for a emotional affair however I don't have to worry about that my husband is more old school on cheating then I am he thinks if you cheat you and your lover deserve to die but he also understands its not cheating if you are raped or drugged but it would have to be proven
