Once we were far enough away, I breathed a sigh of relief. The bus finally stopped about a hundred feet from a waiting C-5 transport plane. We then all got off the bus and slowly filed onto the huge plane which had been fitted with seats to accommodate passengers. As the plane taxied down the runway, took out my wallet, carefully removed my wedding band and put it on my finger. I then took out my bottle of Ambien, put one in my mouth and swallowed it with some water before closing my eyes.
