While I try to keep revising my work to avoid annoying typos, I tend to miss some. If you spot any, please let me know!

_______________________________________________________________

It was a wonderful day for flying, Obsidian thought while extending his wings to catch the currents and glide over the valley.

As he got older, he had become a progressively more important player in the region, such is the fact of life for many dragons, whether they like it or not, and this had been taking more and more of his time away towards his responsibilities to his charges, family and lovers.

Not that he hated this, he actually rather enjoyed his day-to-day routine, but it meant very little time on his own to just relax and enjoy the skies.

So moments like this, where he could just soar through the clouds, admiring the beautiful forests, plains and coasts of his home were very precious to him.

It was easy to lose track of time when out on a flight such as this. The sky and the ground merged into a long continuum of exhilarating views that washed over him like a current of images mixed in with the wind on his scales.

He wasn't even flying that fast, just catching up currents and letting his body be carried away by them, as if cradled by the very winds, but it felt exhilarating.

However, while he tried his best to relax and just let go while on these brief soirées, he couldn't help but always have an eye down towards his chosen realm, in case anything needed his immediate attention, or caught his eye.

And lo and behold, the fates decided today was going to be such a day.

Along the edge of the forest, almost hidden by the thick canopy of greenery, he spotted something of a pure white colour with accents of... pink?

Definitely not what you usually expect to see there.

It was moving slowly along the shade of the trees, close enough to a clearing Obsidian could use to land.

Ever curious, the dragon decided to swoop down and take a look, just in case.

He could have shapeshifted into something smaller to get closer without raising suspicion, but distracted by his own curiosity and still enjoying being able to stretch his legs, he landed in his full draconic glory with a small tremor.

The white blur amongst the trees stopped suddenly as he did so, and Obsidian swore he could hear a giggle.

Slowly, he approached the trees, his wings folded against his body and keeping his claws sheathed in a rather unsuccessful attempt to look less dangerous.

An eye, blue as the clearest sky, was spying him from between the leaves and branches.

"Hello?" said Obsidian, trying to sound as unthreatening as possible.

He definitely heard a giggle right now.

With graceful steps that made the dragon think the creature had springs in their hooves, a stunningly beautiful snow-white mare came out from the dense mass of trees from the forest.

Not a regular equine, Obsidian immediately realized as he spied her pink mane, sharp ivory horn and otherworldly beauty and poise.

A unicorn.

Obsidian had travelled all around the world in his adventures, met celestials, demons and even a couple of gods, and yet... This was a shock.

Throughout his life, he had only met one other unicorn, and it only happened because of life or death circumstances.

They are incredibly shy creatures, powerful enough to evade even the most inquisitive of mages. If you found a unicorn, it's because they wanted to be found.

Still a bit startled, Obsidian bowed his head slightly at the magnificent creature, trying to give her his best smile.

With a cute smile, the unicorn did the same and let out another happy giggle.

"Hiiiiiiii," she said with a girly and sweet tone of voice that caught Obsidian off guard.

He stared at her like an idiot for a moment before regaining his composure.

"Sorry if I disturbed you," Obsidian said, trying his best to be polite. "My name is Obsidian."

The beautiful mare trotted next to him and gave him a happy nuzzle.

Obsidian couldn't help but purr at the overwhelming softness of her fur.

"I'm Faineth!" she said, doing a little spin. "But all my friends call me Candy, because apparently I'm very sweet.

Her pink mane fluttered in the wind as she stood there, smiling at him.

Obsidian didn't quite know what to do or say. Candy did not fit in any way or form what he had expected a unicorn to be, and this also filled him with some shame from having made such a silly assumption.

The beautiful unicorn gave him a lick on his nose and laughed, obviously amused by the dragon being so flabbergasted.

He laughed and smiled back at her, trying to push away his thoughts and just focus on speaking with her normally.

"I have to agree, Candy really does suit you," he finally managed to say, giving her a nuzzle back.

A wide and friendly smile appeared in the equine face of the unicorn, who then did a little trot around Obsidian, as if checking him out.

"Myyyyyyyy, you're so big and hunky!" she said, rubbing her left flank against his right, looking at him with a mischievous face.

Obsidian was very amused, it felt like she was flirting with him.

He decided to play along, as flirting awkwardly was one of those things he strangely enjoyed.

"Were you in the middle of something, gorgeous?" he said, wrapping one of his wings around her and pushing her against his body.

Candy responded by pressing herself against him and nuzzling him effusively.

"Actually," she said with a coy smile, "I was looking out for the dragon that guards the valley."

Obsidian turned his head and started into her clear blue eyes with a mix of interest and confusion.

"You were looking for me?" he finally asked, an odd tingle running down his spine.

She effusively nodded and nuzzled his flank again.

"Yes! I've been looking out for you for ages! Everyone in the valley talks about you!" she trotted in place while saying this, almost as if she was tiptoeing on the grass. It was heart-meltingly adorable.

Obsidian couldn't help but to purr and smile. As much as he tried to hide it, he did like having his ego stroked.

He slowly moved towards the shade of the big trees and laid down like a cat getting comfortable, his eyes fixated on the bubbly unicorn who almost seemed to be posing for him.

"Well," he finally managed to say, "you found me! What can I do for you, gorgeous?" he said, trying his best to regain his composure.

Candy did a little twirl, so excitedly, it seemed she was about to take off. Then she trotted up to him, laid on the grass next to the big dragon.

"I wanted to like... ask you out on a date!" her cute pink tail fluttered as she said this.

Obsidian's brain did a somersault. A unicorn had just... asked him out on a date.

Now, he was anything but a newbie in love and romance at this point. He had several wives he was madly in love with; and through the years, he had innumerable flings and dates, from the mundane to the incredibly exotic. But a unicorn? This was new.

"I'm... absolutely flattered, Candy," he said, trying to be gentle, so she didn't take his confusion for rejection, "but... aren't unicorns super picky about their companionship? Only innocents and those pure of heart?. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely delighted, but I'm anything but pure of heart."

In response, Candy sprang up and did a little stretch.

"You're kind! And loving!, I can totally feel your aura, you know? It's complicated! With patches of darkness and doubt! But you are good, and very, very handsome, if you don't mind me saying!"

Again, the tickle on his ego made him feel fluffy inside. Candy was so... well, sweet. She had an aura of joy, happiness and delight that was maddeningly infectious.

"Thank you beautiful, you're going to make me blush," he said, genuinely flustered.

The unicorn smiled again and stood very still, as if preparing for something.

"And, I've been asking questions around! I know what you like!" she poked her tongue out like a naughty child that had found a juicy secret.

"Want to see a trick?" she asked, winking at him.

Obsidian tilted his head with curiosity at the sudden question, and gently nodded at the excited, effervescent unicorn.

Candy giggled and did a little spin, and as she did, her shape and contours started changing. Her body compressed and shortened as it assumed a bipedal position, and her front hooves turned into delicate silky hands.

The rest of her appearance followed suit, rapidly turning more and more humanlike, by the end of it, Candy appeared like a unicorn had been poured into a human mould.

Her face retained some equine features, such as her snout, but it was much shorter and cuter, looking rather peculiar, yet exotically attractive.

The unicorn's torso was now indistinguishable from that of a human woman, and sported a generous bosom that was very inviting.

Finally, her legs were strong and muscular, with muscular thighs and strong calves. They finished in small, solid hooves that made it seem as if she was standing in place like a ballerina.

She had retained her pink fluffy tail and her hair was the same colour as her mane.

Aside from her gorgeous white fur, she was wearing nothing, and Obsidian was trying his best not to ogle too much, not that Candy seemed to mind his lustful eyes on her at all.

"You like it? The satyrs told me you prefer two legs to four!" she posed sensually for him, and Obsidian had to admit he really liked what he was seeing.

"You look absolutely stunning," he said, slowly standing up to get closer to her.

He did indeed prefer biped girls, and specifically those with human-like bodies. It was probably because of his upbringing, since he had been raised by a human family.

Candy noticed the sparkle in his magma coloured eyes, and started swaying her hips and contorting her body with such sensuality that a succubus would have blushed.

Obsidian was glad he was standing up on all fours now, as it would hide his sudden erection.

The gorgeous unicorn giggled and turned around, her perfect bubble buttocks oscillating in a hypnotic way.

"You like what you see?" she said with a sensual voice while looking at him sideways, her only visible blue eye basically radiating her desire directly at him.

The dragon swallowed and tried to compose himself, he had lust demons in the lair that could learn a thing or two about allure.

"Yes, I very much do, gorgeous," he said nuzzling her warm body as her arms wrapped around his head, "but are you sure about this?.

She nodded and planted a kiss on his forehead.

"But like, of course!" she said with her infectious happy tone, "I also know the perfect spot for our date!"

Obsidian continued rubbing his scales against her warm and smooth fur, purring like a kitten.

"Lead the way then, gorgeous," he said, raising his head to be level with her beautiful eyes.

She beamed with a glorious smile and did a graceful twirl before heading off into the forest.

The dragon followed her and swiftly changed into a humanoid shape himself, as otherwise he'd have to knock down some trees to pursue his new friend.

This part of the forest was particularly thick with foliage and vegetation, small things skittered everywhere as his claws stepped on the ground, and a kaleidoscope of colour danced amongst the shadows.

Obsidian was aware that there were fae on this part of the valley, something that Candy's presence very much confirmed. Though to be fair, he had met with the dryads that sometimes made their presence known outside the forest, and once he had a midnight encounter with a gorgeous nymph by the river.

It was easy to get distracted and lost in a forest like this, too many things to look at, noises everywhere and movements out of the corner of your eye from the animals and bugs trying to remain unseen.

Thankfully, Candy was difficult to miss at this distance, and she was taking her time to guide Obsidian through. And yet, the dragon was aware she could vanish in an instant, her delicate hooves not making a sound as she moved like a ghost between the trees.

Just as Obsidian was thinking this, Candy reached towards his hand with another giggle and pulled him along gently, her blue eyes like pools of radiant serenity amongst the shadows.

"When we get there you need to go back to your normal shape, you might prefer bipeds, but I think you look much better on all fours!" her ears did such a cute little twitch as she said this that it threatened to melt the dragon's heart.

"But of course, ma'lady," Obsidian said with a playful tone, dirty thoughts starting to crowd his brain despite his attempts to remain composed in front of the lovely unicorn.

The dragon was not aware of how much time passed while following Candy through the forest. It felt like moving through a dream, never entirely there. Eventually, though, the light got brighter, indicating they were close to a clearing of some kind, and this snapped Obsidian back to reality.

Candy posed as if presenting something, inviting her new friend to pass between some trees into the clearing beyond.

Obsidian did so with a smile and was rewarded with a stunning view. A gorgeous pond was formed along a stream that cut through the forest. It glistened with pure refreshing water, so clear that you could see everything under it as if through a polished sheet of glass. Flowers, colourful bushes and trees decorated the area, giving everything an otherworldly look and feel.

That gave Obsidian pause, otherworldly indeed, for this felt like a place of power for the fae. There was even a large rock in the middle of the pond, almost like an altar of some kind, though irregular and smooth as stones licked by running waters tend to be.

The dragon's moment of awe was interrupted once he noticed some figures on the opposite side of the clearing. Several humanoids, dressed in work clothes and wielding axes and other woodworking tools, were making markings and taking measurements on some trees on their side of the glade.

And then it dawned on Obsidian, those trees were magical, most probably spirit trees that could birth dryads, hell, some of them might *be* dryads, as sometimes they went to sleep for decades inside their trees.

Almost as a reflex, the dragon switched to his true form, his massive claws splashing on the pond as they landed on the ground. He roared at the men on the far side while spreading his wings to further intimidate them with his size.

The men jumped and grabbed their axes and tools as if ready to fight, but colour abandoned their faces once they realized what had roared at them.

"You fools!" roared Obsidian, genuinely incensed by their careless actions, "those are spirit trees! Dryads sleep and are born from those!"

The lumberjacks stared at each other in a mix of terror and confusion, but a couple of them were obviously more in the known than others.

"No gold you would get from their wood is worth it! Asides from my fury, the fae from this forest would curse you! You would never be able to make a living from the woods again!"

After a few moments, their fear wracked brains were able to put two and two together, and quickly devolved into a braying mass of voices, blaming each other, pleading for mercy and trying to talk their ways out of responsibility.

But Obsidian was not in the mood for this. He roared again, so loud the birds and animals in the packed woods took their leave in an instant, leaving the clearing eerily silent. The workmen almost sobbed, looking at Obsidian without uttering a word.

"Whatever quarrel you have amongst yourselves does not interest me right now, leave," he stamped his claw, making it clear what would happen to them should they decide to argue any further.

He didn't need to repeat himself, the lumberjacks hastily packed their tools and dashed away into the forest, not even daring to look back.

"And do not ever come back to this glade!" Obsidian said, puffing some steam from his nostrils.

After a few moments, he took a deep breath and sat down by the peaceful pond, trying to compose himself. He normally had a much gentler temper, but for some reason, this had really infuriated him.

As his mind refocused, he asked himself, where is Candy?

And then he smiled to himself while rolling on one side on the fresh grass by the pond. The little cutie had enthralled him to follow her here and help her dryad friends.

He had suspected Candy was more than she seemed, but he had fallen for her charms hook line and sinker.

The dragon giggled to himself, feeling a bit foolish, but also happy he had been able to help. And as he relaxed with his eyes closed, listening to the lovely current crossing the pond, he felt a pair of soft and silky hands on his belly scales.

Carefully, he opened his eyes, and was delighted to see Candy laying against his belly, petting his warm body as she looked at him with her breathtaking blue eyes.

"Hey there handsome," she said as her ears did a little twitch, it was enough to melt the most hardened of hearts, and Obsidian's was already very much of the soft gooey variety.

The gorgeous unicorn was still on her humanoid shape, and her snow-white fur almost shone like a beacon under the quiet light of the glade.

Obsidian gave her a smile back, and placed one of his claws on the back of her neck, caressing her pink mane.

While Candy was smaller in this shape than in her original equine form, she was still quite tall, with legs so long that could induce vertigo on the lucky onlookers. Yet, Obsidian was much bigger in his natural draconic shape, her head comfortably fitting inside his clawed hand.

"I thought you had left, gorgeous," he managed to ask as he tried to escape the stupor her beauty had put him under.

The gorgeous unicorn giggled again, effervescent as always, and kissed his belly scales.

Obsidian lifted her cute snout and once more focused on her eyes.

"Did you just use me to chase away those men?" he could feel her warmth digging into his body, which was a curious experience for the dragon, as normally he was the one radiating warmth through the magical furnace on his chest.

Candy laid her head on his scales again, giving him a playful and coquettish look.

"Maaaaaaaaaybe," she said like a little girl that was caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

Obsidian laughed and nuzzled her, purring as her allowed his body to react to her touch and kisses.

"You could have just asked me for help, gorgeous," he said as his claws dug through her thick and soft mane.

Candy turned against his belly, laying the back of her neck against his scales as she stretched and arched her body, pushing her generous bosom out and giving Obsidian a wonderful view of her strong long legs.

"It was more fun this way," she said, utterly unrepentant and mischievous about it, "besides, I was saying the truth about that date, it's just nice to take a good look at your future partner doing something cool like that."

Obsidian turned his head in surprise at her last words.

"Future partner?" he asked, trying as he grabbed her torso by her firm belly and pressed her against his."

Candy nodded as her hands grabbed his huge fingers and held him close to her body.

"We unicorns are good about personalities and people, you know; we just look at someone, and you know if they will be good, bad, friend, possible lover...," she trailed off as she fluttered her eyelashes at him, her body was getting warmer and Obsidian could feel how her pose became less playful and more sensual.
