- I remember when I first discovered that fact about John Carter. Totally ruined the mythos of the story for me. Then again, the same author wrote Tarzan - in which he has scenes where that "hero" revels in the glory of slaughtering Africans.

I still love the idea of 'Naked Mars', and love how you've seamlessly blended it into HG Well's War of the Worlds. But yeah... Burroughs was the worst kind of racist.
