Seems like rawlyrawls is loosing his MOJO, the stories don't have same intensity as he used to have, this part is average at best
I held off reading this series until now, and I find I can't even remember why it didn't appeal to me at first. Once I got started, it turned into quite the page turner. I've enjoyed the fantastical Romanesque setting, and of the rawlyrawls stories I've read this one has had the best non-smut plot elements of all. Credible intrigue, decently tense action, and worthwhile villains. Far from "losing his mojo" I'd say this series is an elevation from rawlly's typical (always enjoyable) formula.
I love this series, I hope there's more of the mother and son stuff to come, perhaps other wives and maybe family members to introduce Vel to.
