Thankyou SO Much! Just a few paragraphs in and now I've got the Mother of all earworms stuck in my head. All through the flight from London I was distracted by the voice of Richard Burton's voice narrating the story as it was performed on Jeff Wayne's musical interpretation of H.G. Wells, War of the Worlds. I've got questions, but I'll just wait for the answers to be written into the story. you're off to a ripping start.
