I couldn't make the connection between a dormant twenty year old affair and how viciously Renata reacted. Why was she so hateful toward her husband right from the get go? Owen's and Leah's affair was long-dead and old history. Owen seemed overly passive and underdeveloped as a character. Making Renata's lover her husband's biological son was a clever twist. Kinky, actually.

There is no DNA in hair clippings cut with scissors. The sample must include the hair bulb, the growing part of the hair, in order to harvest DNA. With all the semen Dylan was slinging about, that would have seemed the more logical choice.
