"This isn't right," said Ria after the old woman repeated the instructions. "This isn't you, Kal."

"Don't believe for a second I like sending a woman to her death," he snapped at the sprite. "I'm honoring this woman's wishes and making sure her grandchildren are taken care of. Slaying these worms will also spare those they would murder in the future, not to mention any their children might kill. I can't ignore all of that when the woman said herself she's ready to move on."

Untying Ria's bag, he handed it to Kashka, "Stay near me with that." Holding his arms out to the side, he took a deep breath and said, "Ria, everything but the boots. And the mask! And the mask! Leave the mask!"

A flurry of lights left Kal standing nude in front of everyone gathered. He looked around and blushed bright red from all the people staring.

A light touch on his cock jolted him out of his embarrassment, "You touched me without asking," said the old woman, "now we're even."

"Fair enough," he replied as the woman pushed her robe off her shoulders, leaving her standing in only a mask and sandals.

There were a few more startled gasps as everyone else saw her scars.

"Ria, store that for her," said Kal.

"A moment, Kal. We keep the robe and give it to their next of kin," said Turam.

"I'll be sure you get it back," the mage replied before turning back to the old lady. "Would you like an arm or prefer if I carry you?"

The woman laughed. "It's been a long time since I've been carried by a man. I think I'd like that."

Kal gingerly scooped the woman into his arms and looked back at Kashka and Ria.

"Ready?" he asked.

Ria nodded and vanished from sight, alighting moments later on his shoulder. Kashka's expression was hard as diamonds and one he hadn't seen since her fight with Bozun.

Turning toward the worms, he carried the old woman out into the open sands.
