He was right to dump her. The only reason her "emotional affair" hadn't turned physical at that point was because he intervened before Sandy started screwing her ex-boyfriend. She deserved her miserable ending after being stupid enough to get pregnant by her bad boy ex.

I would've given this 5*, but you ruined the ending by leaving the betrayed husband a broken shell of a man with severe trust issues. He learned the wrong lesson from his marriage. Sandy was an alpha widow, who never got over being dumped by her Chad ex-boyfriend. This should've ended up with Ryan learning that being a white knight and trying to "save" a woman with emotional baggage is a terrible mistake. Wife #3 should be a much younger woman without a traumatic dating history.

This was a good story. It would have had a 4* but the fact she fell and lost the baby was just to silly. 2 months and then leaving her was quite enough to make the point and finish a well written tale

After reading again I think I would give her another chance. She didn't know she was being followed when she met her ex for lunch. She could have had sex with him, but she didn't.

The MC introducing himself to the reader twice was careless, as was the shift of narration from first person to third person and back again but the real kicker was the wife apparently being unaware of the video security system that the husband had installed in their home. How can that be? That said, though, the author has an engaging writing style and will improve with progress.

Both believable and emotionally painful. The dialogue between Ryan and Sandy fit the theme you stated at the outset, erosion of the pillars of marriage through deceit. The length was perfect. I really liked this Cindy.

But it was a truly depressing story.

The emotions during the conversation between the couple was quite understated yet the writer still managed to bring out the hurt and utter disappointment of the betrayed. At least Sandy managed to find a little happiness as she got some time to have sex with Billy.

But I do think she deserved her fate. She made the mistake and she stupidly self-inflict punished herself -- so everything is all on her.

I liked it, the writing was well executed and the main point is valid,that the trust was a problem.

My only confusion/ critique is Sandy continues to say she only met Billy to get revenge yet the texts say something very different. When that came out IRL if she wanted to save the marriage she would need to try and explain her words and actions bc it doesn't add up at all. It was obvious she would continue to see Billy from the texts and would have sex with him, so why not at least try to be honest? I think IRL a woman would know the emotional angle was worse than let's say having a fling with some guy in a bar and would have to admit it all.

Incredable and accurate downfall of a marriage. You wrote this well and clearly. Too many people believe the small lies and deceit don't add up, each one becomes a scar that never fades. My ex is the best man I know and my attitude made me think I couldn't possibly get caught. My lover and I were caught naked and he suffered a horrible beating by my husband. Justice was swift and divorce crushed me. Trust in this, its not worth it.

I suspect she had not acted on it in a physical sense other than kissing (which is a problem anyways) but the lies and the texts with the self photo leave no chance foe n reconciliation especially with someone burned in a prior marriage and for which fidelity and honesty is paramount.
