Very exciting to see a new story. Welcome back. I hope there's more to come. As I've stated before, I enjoy your crisp and spare writing style. You tell a lot of story in not a lot of words. Thanks much.

Really good BTB with no prisoners at the beginning. Love your portrayal of a rather normal married man in normal middle class household. This guy has a rock solid case of integrity and when faced with a cheating complete betrayal by all of the family he had trusted with his heart and life; he returns the betrayal with interest. It is rather refreshing to FINALLY find a story that is REAL. The husband’s response to the wife’s request for reconciliation is perfect. It clear and is solidly founded on the recognition of her demonstrated sociopathic betrayal. She is a self centered sociopath who is repents of the consequences of getting caught. The base self centered entitlement demonstrated by her casual betrayal shows a foundational contempt for the husband and her marriage that Connor be “repaired”. The daughter’s betraying act as a pimp setting up her mother clearly shows that the entire family holds the father/husband in complete contempt. The husband thus is objectified. There is no love, compassion or common decency possible from the hell spawn now masquerading as wife and daughter

What I particularly love about this tale is the rock solid common sense that underscores the actions of the cuckolded husband. He plans and executes his response logically and decisively. Yes his response seems cold but remember he is responding to the truth of his FAMILY’S complete betrayal contempt and objectification of him. That cannot repaired and he severs all connections coldly with the precision of a surgeon. They have destroyed the marriage. His actions merely reflect that truth. He understands any reconciliation would be a surface sham that would last only until the next triggering incident.

He opts out decisively. Again I love how the author so realistically framed his new life. Yes the one bedroom apartment monastic existence is simply awful; but anything is s better than the alternative. No one wants to be the commandant of the prison camp that maintaining that empty shell of a marriage would have entailed.

He moves on with an empty life for years until time assuages some of that pain. He opens up to a realistic conclusion that includes a second love and a reconciliation with his new grandchild and daughter. The author even includes the daughters self centered slutting generating the baby out of wedlock. Even her actions are shown as having consequences

Simply put.:. I LOVE this tale. The common sense celebration of monogamy and marriage and the dire consequences of feel good “do what you will…” are clearly displayed. The husband demonstrates the very best of understated masculinity. He clearly perceives the problems and takes decisive actions to basically preserve his sanity.

This story stands alone on this site. It is so nice to esuage the all too common tropes of the over psychologically entrapped emotionally immobile wimp cuckold husband fearfully tiptoeing around the desiccated ruins of a marriage while the contemptuous slut wife arrogantly struts out her selfish impulses unchecked.

Again congratulations on a great story

Great work, I'll echo what servant111 wrote.

No James Bond elaborate plans, but a decisive separation from treachery and one last attempt to teach his daughter a life lesson that at her age she should already have known.

WOW!!! So much running through my head. First, you are a good writer, and I will seek out more of your stories. Second, I loved that you snuck in the "To Sir With Love" lyrics, but you should have added some credit to the song. And third, my initial reaction to the story was that it was good, but really a Christmas downer, and the man's reaction was way over-board. I mean, it was only a little butt-sex, and didn't the 25- good years count for something?? Seemed to me like the death-sentence for first offense shoplifting. But, then I read the comments by Servant111, and thought "HOLY FUCK"!!!! I hope there aren't too many like that!!!

Seems just what a real guy would do in reaction to this kind of betrayal. What the fuck is wrong with that "ENDERLOCK77" guy?

demanderdemanderover 2 years ago

Good story, well written. BUT, I can never see the reason for allowing the spouse to cheat when it could have been stopped with a conversation. As for Allie, that may have taken more work. But the wife would likely have been dissuaded easily, and for good. Then have a talk about the dead bedroom (if it was). Allowing her to cheat just doesn't make any sense. Seems like an act of self-destruction, or self-pity. D

At first, I was conflicted with the tale. But - it turned out much better! Well told!!! I don't like these stories - more of a Hallmark movie guy - with a happy ending!

Great story, and your telling it sure captured the anger and lingering hatred at being betrayed extremely well. VERY finely and skillfully written. I really like the fact that Trevor didn't run out and get "my friend who's a tech wizard" (who every MC on LW seems to have) to wire the house for sound and video. No, he just played it by 'ear', literally.

So if I were the guy I would have taken off for the hunting trip but stay local to see if she does have the guy show up. I then would enter the house for he confrontation hopefully before the sex act. After the divorce, I would not stay in a pity party as long as he did. I wouldn't go all anger and grouch but I wouldn't go dating every day either.

LNRAstroLNRAstroover 2 years ago

Meh! Seems to me he forgave the evil serpent in the garden and still blamed Eve for making a bad choice. If I’m holding the sinner to account for her actions, I’m certainly not going to allow the devil who tempted her a free pass. If one is forgiven, then both should be. Just my sense of fairness coming forward. But rarely is life fair.

GriscomGriscomover 2 years ago

Yo, @Anonymous, WOW!!!, this quote from my favorite @moreandmore story, Doing My Best to Not Be a Problem, might help you understand: "[F]idelity is just like pregnancy, you are either pregnant or you are not, there is no gray area. Fidelity is one hundred percent or it's zero."

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

To the "Why didn't he stop her?" crowd, how's that saying go, "If you love something let go go, blah blah blah"?

What exactly was he supposed to do? Stay home and have them change the day?

Say he heard Allie talking about Max so she could pooh-pooh and deny?

Somehow go after Max (and Jeff?) preemptively, although he hadn't actually done anything? At least not yet.

So many think the issue is the physical act of cheating in infidelity situations, but they're wrong. The physical act is the icing, the disrespect that comes before is the cake. Did he try to reach out to his wife in the months prior? Yes he did, and she didn't respond. Exactly who was responsible for her (lack of) response? Involving the daughter just turned the disrespect knob up to eleven.

I do think this might have been better in LW. Perhaps the author didn't want it lost in the morass of cuck-tales that category has been of late.

My only complaint is with the wife's awkward name. "Elizabeth, never Liz" would have worked as well and I know how to pronounce those.

Speaking of the ex, I did note her conspicuous absence in the "after" portion of the story. He will at some point have to forgive her for his own peace of mind. Not for what she did, but for being weak enough to do it.

Thanks moreandmore for a good read, 'see' you next time.

Welcome back

Nice story. I think I would have said something to my wife when I heard the conversation. That could have stopped everything, or not. Unless he really did not love her anymore.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

Fully agree with LNRAstro. Why forgive the greater of the two evils? Yes the wife could have resisted temptation, but would she have had to without the temptation being brought to her in the first place? And with all the instigation involved. The daughter is just as culpable and in a way more so. The fact you are supposed to have the extra familial bond due to being his offspring makes the betrayal worse. Hard nope.

AmbivalenceAmbivalenceover 2 years ago

Kind of disturbing that Allie didn't make the leap of logic the *moment* her father said he'd set Jeff up to have sex.

"So, you're likely going to dump Jeff now, right? Because someone set him up to have sex with someone who wasn't you and he did it, right?" (Followed by a lot of glaring at his wife and daughter.)

Regguy69Regguy69over 2 years ago

Liked it. His reactions were pretty realist as your story unfolded. I think I would have confronted my wife as soon as she got home and then had it out with the conniving, backstabbing daughter. But that would make for a very short story.

The divorce and everything that followed was logical and reasonable. What was illogical was the husband allowing the wife to fuck the punk without any recording equipment, or even better, having the husband show up just as the fucking was getting started. Why let the ex whore even have the fond memory of a young stud up her ass? The rest of the story would proceed unchanged, divorce and all. The wife had betrayed him when she made the conscious decision to fuck another man. The physical fucking was just the confirmation of the betrayal and disrespect that already occurred in the ex whore's mind. Later, when the ex wife asked what she could possibly do to make it up to her cuckold husband, he should have responded, "You killed the life that I loved. Go do to yourself what you have done to me and our marriage."

And he never did have a closing conversation with the ass slut. I thought that was one of Shannon's concerns? It would have been appropriate for Allie to explain to her father exactly why she advised and arranged for her mother's cheating. While you spent a lot of effort on the technique of catching the wife, and the details of burning the bitch, you never had the wife really explain her betrayal. Some authors have a real problem getting that deep into the trauma and the sociopathic understanding of adultery. Maybe you will grow into it.

Thanks for the effort.

Life sure does move on with or without you, but how does one try to keep up if the kaleidoscope of life only shows you nightmares everytime? When is it morally justified to give up? Sometimes even the freezing cold or the beasts of the wild can seem comforting & warm due the finality they guarntee.

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

The divorce was too rapid and thoughtless. His wife's adultery was Really out of character, so he should have been interested in learning from her mistake. He also needs to explain why he allowed her hookup to happen. He didn't even need to let the sex happen, just having the punk asshole show up would have been reason enough to start the divorce. And then the daughter? How the fuck does that make sense? Independence is important to being a whole woman. Duplicity, deceit, and betrayal are not. The daughter should have been coaching her mother on how to negotiate a divorce before coaching her mother on the joy of anal sex. Sick people. It would have been interesting for hear them explain what prompted their betrayal and lack of respect.

But it was still a worthy read. Thanks for the effort.

I can see forgiving the daughter after her letter to him. She was young and stupid. I could never forgive the wife though. Great story

AnonymousAnonymousover 2 years ago

someone critiqued that a lot of space was spent on trapping and divorcing the bitch but that no time was given to explaining why the bitch cheated. No explanation is needed, the bitch is all about herself, her needs, wants, fantasies, orgasms etc. No thought at all to what the husband wants needs expects or fantasiezes, so she does what she wants because she can, always has and shes entitled, despite hardly ever working as an adult. Hubby/ well hes supposed to work himself to an early grave but only if he has a ginormous life insurance policy, otherwise he should be enabling her trists, fantasies, her emasculating agenda and keep supporting her and loving her and forgiving her cuz shes entitled and votes democrap.

Trevor was spot on for what he did to Michella and Allie....they deserved what they got!!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

Who are these idiot commenters who want to know why Michella cheated? She cheated because she could! “I am sure he will never know”! That is the reason for all cheaters!. If they had really loved their husbands then they would NEVER CHEAT! This section is called “Loving Wife” which is really a hypothetical title for some of the stories here. What most readers want is to see is the cheating spouse getting “burned”. For these bleeding hearts commenters who want them to reconcile there should have a new Literotica section called “Cuckolded Husbands”. Then they can zoom into those stories and be happy!

FlynnTaggartFlynnTaggartabout 2 years ago

I like this story quite a bit. Its a different sort of story, the ex-wife is mostly forgotten halfway through as well she should be, she willingly cheated just because she could. The daughter was the main focus and while she betrayed the MC too she was young and stupid, it was an enjoyable read seeing them reconcile. Wasn't easy but then you wouldn't expect it to be. 5 stars.

Sickeningly sweet tale that SO fits the Hallmark Movie tradition. Something bad happens, but in the end, all is happiness and light. Not how I think it works in real life, but it made for a pretty good story. His view of things that had to be either black or white reflect today's troubles. Sometimes there has to be a middle. We've forgotten that.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

so I'm reading your story as Allie is trying to apologize to her dad, and I'm noticing a pattern of the words

you chose..."from Crayons to Perfume...A friend who tried to teach me right from wrong and weak from strong. That's a lot to learn. What could I give you in return?".. the words as you probably know are from the song

"To Sir With Love" by Lulu....of course you have to be a hundred years old to know that...haha

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

1 star for Shannon’s meddling with his relationship with Allie without consequences for Shannon. also for the reconciliation with Allie. She was the one that set up his wife to cheat on him encouraging her mom with how modern it was but became a total hypocrite about cheating when it came to her own relationship. Trevor did Jeff a couple of favors, got him laid and saved him from marrying a selfish bitch.

If he had at least told Shannon he wanted nothing to do with Allie and her child and that he needed to rethink their relationship if she was going to push him to let that betrayer back into his life, I would have scored higher.

5 stars - this is a decent story and I liked it. The only thing I would like to mention, is the length of time to get over things. The sooner you drop it and forgive or forget the perp - the better you will end your life. However, because of my Scots ancestry, I was the traditional 'hold a grudge until I get revenge' kind of guy, BUT I learned the hard way, that I suffered as much if not more than my intended victim. SO my advice - 'get over yourself' - life is short and then you die. Roll around on the floor while playing with your grandchildren. Life does not get any better than that.

AA82ndAAAA82ndAAabout 2 years ago

I thought this was a well told story. Only aspects I would have developed fuller is the cheaters and Trevor’s marriage. Maybe some more insight of the cheaters character and up bringing. Overall, a pointed story with strong resentment feeling towards wife and daughter. Daughter seemed to finally feel what hurt she promoted. One last point, I found Trevor’s “depressing life” to be a bit long (26 months) mainly as he and his wife seemed to live an apathetic existence. Him being mad was normal ego driven, however she was not the burning love of eternity so why hold a hate etc. so long? BTRH...

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

As usual, very well written. However, I guess I just don’t get the “burn the world down around you” mindset and message. Sure, the wife did something ridiculous, immature, thoughtless, selfish, and stupid. Once (not that it makes okay, but still once). And that warrants several years of hatred and misery, being miserable and making everyone around you miserable? That’s just what the world needs more of, people who take a bad situation and make it way worse. If that’s a profile of strength, courage, common sense and decency, count me out. Guess I won’t be getting that merit badge.

Some Random Thoughts:

Fidelity, like Trust, Respect, and Integrity, are binary in nature.

Michy can discuss the marital intercourse experience with the daughter, but refuses to do so with the hubby.

Allie suggests her mother take some Max-dick up her virgin ass. Hard to believe such a conversation has existed in the history of mankind.

Brilliant! Make daddio love me again by having a child out of wedlock. Allie's logic is way off the charts.

MC is hard-nosed enough to dump the cheater and her pimp without fanfare, but lacks the self-assurance to talk to people - Yeah, not so much...

Overall, an interesting story that tickled by attention but never really grabbed it. Thanks for the submission and the entertainment.
