Author, I do think that proper use of punctuation would help the readability, the story is pretty good. I thought the sex was a little limited, but not surprising. Objective criteria? Literotica actually has a fairly good one with the star system. It isn't fool proof, but it works pretty good. If you hold your cursor over the stars it will tell you what they mean.
