What man, who truly loves his wife, doesn't understand the difference between subservient and submissive? I have been shown both a man who dominates his wife, by my bio dad (a true monster of mythic proportions), and a man who leads his home, and yet still holds his wife's desires above his own (my amazingly strong-willed, yet soft spoken, step-father). By no means is my step submissive, by no means is he mealy-mouthed or milquetoast. Yet, he spends much time and concern making sure my mother is, if not happy, content. I see this in your latest protagonist. Well done, oggbashan. By the way, my mom and step-father have been married 45 years. So, being subservient, in a loving, respectful relationship, works.
