"They're beautiful," my mate, Shimmerclaw, said as she nuzzled me gently. "Our friends to the east have reported in. The great human city has fallen, there is nothing left for them."
"Good," I said. "Any more good news?"
"The last vestiges of resistance have been rounded up... Blackpaw is bringing the resistance leaders to you as ordered unchanged," she replied.
"How many of them are female?" I asked.
"All of them..."
"Excellent, they will make fine new pack sisters, or breeders if they try to fight," I said with a barking laugh.
As Blackpaw and my other guards came in with a number of human women between them. I got up and walked forward, tasting their defiance on my lips. It tasted so sweet, and they were going to join us soon enough.
The pack had won.
