I like Hank and Max alot. His theory is pretty funny. At least that it was based on him and his hubby. How did they meet and are they both from here? What happens in this world if u meet someone. If it doesn't correspond to your job assignment you're screwed?

Could taron's parents have a say in his placement if they wanted him away from taron? And how can being friend of the president's daughter not maybe give you a connection to change this? Poor kev. To be told this is your life forever would feel bleak to me.

I'm with cannd. I'm surprised jobs can't change EVER. Like, no one has ever needed a transfer for personal reasons? Also surprised that Kev's elite relationships can't help him. I'm assuming that with the interclass initiative, elites can move around if they want? Otherwise, how will natals meet elites?

But the biggest surprise, to be honest? That human mechanics are needed when tech advances mean machines could do the job, LOL. But I guess everyone has a purpose, so machines don't do *everything*.

Answers to questions

Okay those are a lot of questions, all valid and I guess maybe some off them was ghosted over.

@cannd: Yes, Hank and Max were born in sector 76. I mentioned in 'The Lunar Life' that natal pairs are genetically paired to prevent inbreeding and expanding the gene pool. A sort of arranged marriage if you will. For gay couples, this isn't too big a deal seeing that they don't birth children without a surrogate. In the case of Will and Thane, and by extension Taron and Kev, this is even less of an issue as elite children are genetically engineered. A lot of background science that I will not go into. As for the job thing, yes natals stick with the same job for their life because that's what they are trained to do. Become really good at their fields. This cannot be altered even by important elites due to the possibility of corruption. That's not to say that there aren't exceptions though. *wink wink*. And as for Taron's parents, well...just keep reading to find out. Haha

@geemeedee: I think some of your questions have already been answered above. As for elites moving, yes they can totally do that. But, most elite jobs are centered in the city centre. Other than there, infrastructure on the rest of Lunaris does not really require an elite, especially not a scientist. Engineers maybe, but not scientist. So, if Taron was to move, it would basically make him jobless. As for natals and elites mixing because of the initiative, it's this reason that the initiative didn't take off as well as they would have liked. Lastly, as for the need for human mechanics, well it's just Lunaris structure. As in 'The Lunar Life', many jobs like nurses have humans working with droid. Only jobs like receptionist, drivers and housekeepers are droid exclusive. Everyone on Lunaris is required to have a job. The main purpose of Lunaris is the repopulation of the Earth after all and that includes learning a field.

If anyone else has anymore questions feel free to ask them. I want you guys to know the story as I do, so I'm glad to fill in any other gaps that you might have.

Complete crap

Job placement should always include the psychological and emotional needs of the job seeker. This placement is ridiculous.

@I_am_Midnight

This story consists of a total of 10 chapters. Sorry they are not daily updates as of now but Lit does was it likes and I have no control over the moderators of this website. Haha

Readers of great stories are in agony no matter what on this site. If the authors take their time between chapters, we suffer as we wait. If the author tries to do the right thing and post the story all at once, we suffer because of Lit moderators. You can't win. :0/

Good but sad chapter

I was sad to see Kevin had to move so far away from Taron and his family but I enjoyed the dialogue with his new employers. Liked how you showed what the world looks like outside the centre and compared the two drastically different locations.
