This feels like a "The End." But I'm really hoping that it isn't.

I didn’t rate each chapter but I did give it a five at the end.

Well, that certainly leaves a lot on the table if the author wants to continue the story of the couple further, while at the same time wrapping up the immediate situation. While Cynthia is leaving Wilderwood, is she keeping her Beauty Salon in town and thus liable to drop in on her Children? Will Nathan take the defiance of his Grand Nephew in stride, or will there be further fallout? Will Trowley be able to get the help he needs after years of manipulation, or is he still a pigeon on the chess board, ready to knock the pieces over while strutting around?

I'd enjoy reading more, but I am glad we got a conclusion, and a happy ending.

I did have to chuckle a little when Jamie popped Emma's little bubble of woe, you really did nail the angsty overthinking bit & immediately *showed* it ( and incidentally how easily led/unassured Emma is, perhaps your rewite could hint that a little earlier ). Most ends neatly wrapped up, only thing I really wanted more of was to explore the rather hinted building chemistry between Lauren & Jamie. ( Also I'm kinda glad Lauren didn't turn put to be the actual Wilderwood Witch, it was a theory at one point given her family is conveniently way off camera - that might be worth a Halloween sendup sideplot to go with the title couple doing whatever of their many themes they pick ).

If there's a continuation it'll surely have to be when Nathan is about to drop & we get the jnheritance issue back - I'm sure there's a plot in there somewhere, not quite sure if it'll still manage the quirky apooky atmosphere though. Just as long as noone has magically grown out of a phase...

This whole story is very well done! I'll keep my fingers crossed that there will be a book II coming out in the future to see where this winds up! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!

Overall, a pretty good story. For a long while I thought you'd dropped it, but was glad to see it continued. I'm not sure why but I consider the ending rushed and weak. Maybe it was the spelling errors or use of i where I was needed. Just the same, thank you.

what i see is that to continue this story scorpio has to figure out a way to make incest legal. there are many countries and 3 states where it is legal. can it be grand fathered in. would like to see this story continue. gl all

So far as this being The End... it's the end of this arc, and while I do intend to continue the siblings' story it may be a while before I embark on a long story like this one again. There are other stories to tell as well - some related to Wilderwood, some not.

At the moment I'm working on an extensive rewrite of Ch 1 to 5 (which I've always thought of as the first arc) and which -should- be going up on Smashwords some time. It'll be about 50% new content as well as (hopefully) smoothing out some of the rough edges of my earlier storytelling.

Damn how did I miss this story for so long, I have read all the good stories on this site, but this somehow escaped me. But I am also glad that I could read this one go, the story was beautifully written and executed, the romance, the drama, the kinks everything was spot on, I usually get bored of stories that run long and only have 2 Characters mostly because most of the scenes get repetitive but this wasn't the case here at all, and the mystery about the lineage was a cherry on top, although I usually don't like it when there are other characters involved in a romance kind of story the threesome with Lauren was very well implemented, without hindering the relationship of Emma and Jamie, looking forward to the continuation of their journey which you said you would write sometime in the future, looking forward to more of Emma and Jamie's adventure

I mentioned in an older comment that I was working on a revision of the story starting with chapters 1 to 5. I've now completed this. Among other things the rewrite makes some changes to the timeline of events in the story, which means future Wilderwood stories will be slightly out of sync with the version posted here.

I was surprised to find how often I laughed out loud during binge reading all the chapters. I wasn't expecting such a lovely low-key sense of humour. But then the writing was excellent, so perhaps my surprise is on me. The dialogue - both external and internal - was perfect, never too much or too little, and the descriptions certainly made every scene wonderfully clear.

Whew, I was worried for a bit that the story would not see a conclusion. Checking back finally paid off; happy to see this finally get some closure. I will say the end felt a bit stilted... a little rushed maybe? I also think Emma was a little too sudden in her freakout about being a slave. She does come across "a little too good to be true" until then and the shift is jarring for me. We could have used a few scenes from her perspective to help set up where that came from in advance, and give her a bit of depth. I realize it's not easy to do without coming across as fake or mansplain-y if, as I'm guessing, you as the author were socialized as a male. Overall, greatly enjoyed this and hoping for more; scratched my goth and incest itches very well. Thank you for sharing.

This was a well thought out and fantastically written story. You can tell that the author (Scorpio_Six) put a lot of time and effort into plot development. I loved Jamie's use of sarcasm liberally spread throughout the story, similar to Nelson DeMille's style, only better, because DeMille overuses it lately. Great job, Scorpio_Six!!!!

It seems you've earned the compliments of more than one who simply had to read this straight through. In my view that itself might be the greatest compliment to a writer. This was intelligent, humorous and kinky without delving too deep. It wasn't a romantic sort of love but more in line with the story. Great work!

I did quite like the series, but for me the landing wasn't stuck. The whole supernatural thing just seemed kinda haphazard. The explanations at the end weren't satisfying. I also think the story ended too early.

Well, I’ve read this series three or four times, and I still like it and would like to see a new story arc.

This is what I would write:

Emma and Jamie should prepare a long term plan to be together. But that means they can’t be together (too much) for right now. Strategically, Jamie needs to stay engaged with his great uncle Nathen if he has any desire for the inheritance. Emma should avoid Uncle Nathan as much as possible. The objective is to ouTLAST Nathan. But Jamie should engage with Nathan to learn more about the family; about why there are estrangements from the Boston and other branches of the family, and how they can be kept away from the money and property. A reasonable suggestion to make is for the Wilderwood valley to be an actual wilderness area, forever protected from development (it also would reduce the inheritance taxes).

Both Emma and Jamie need to go out and be seen with other people. He could start with Jennifer Danforth, even though her dad is his mom’s lawyer. He should give her three dates, and whether they have sex or not isn’t important, the fact that they are seen is important to the town society.. He should give any woman other than Emma three dates, if they last that long. Jamie and Emma will still sleep together time to time whether at home or at Lauren’s

I don’t have a good idea how to present Emma in society. Does she want to continue to present as the Goth Girl, or does she just want to present as a lesbian.

They should both stay in contact with their parents, but they should be very adult with them both. Actually the mom could play an important role in a future story arc, given that she was not that developed in the existing story. They should love their parents , but the elder James (dad) has to be told “I love you, but you really screwed yourself over because you couldn’t keep it in your pants”

Nice piece of writing, I felt the end was not the conclusion, more so a mechanism to get away from this story by the author

I think the main storyline was wrapped up well to a degree, but the numerous sub plots were left hanging which left me unfulfilled as a reader, more time, thought, and a couple of chapters could have tied it all off nicely ... could still be done, I'd definitely read them
