Great story! My complaint, as always, is that your story is too long to be read in one sitting.

Loved the story. I hate to nitpick but this jumped out at me when I read it. Head rests (restraints) were not on cars until 1969. The '64 would not have had them. Very minor detail...great writing and story!
Outstanding as usual. I would buy these if you published them as novels. Great characters and stories.
1. Good to have you back
2. Thanks for putting it out in one piece. I hate to read stories in installments
3. Good to the see the core characters in a different setting
Great work, looking forward to more with C & H Investigations and two more players to learn more about as they learn from Chase how investigations are done. My only complaint is that the story ended :) Each paragraph added to the intrigue as you developed the detail of where the missing went and what happened to them. Love it!
I REALLY like this author. I find all his stories impossible to put down - I read them all start-to-finish at one go. Sure, there are a few small grammatical mistakes, a typo here and there, but like the scars on fine leather these are proof of authenticity to me.
Damned good story teller.
I was consistently checking if this was posted everyday in May. I was so excited that it was this morning. Read it all in one go like I usually do with your works. I don’t know how you do it but the storylines and plots get better and better with each story I’m this series. I also love that by now I can follow along and realize who the suspect is but I’m always left biting my nails for Chase to piece out the motive and how it was done. I also love what you did there at the first end with Jo from Home Sweet Home. Can’t say enough about how much I love your work. Sigh, time to reread starting from the beginning with Jill and Derek. Can’t wait for the next one! - a very faithful reader
It's been almost a month since this story was posted, and the wait has been absolutely worth it. Re-read all all of CF's stories in the interim and they still hit awesome. Thanks
Great story. Like the Criminal Affair series, they’re long in terms of volume, but the reading goes quickly. Compelling stories with excellent character development, in a consistent universe. Chase and Midge are certainly interesting. Bringing in Jo from Home Sweet Home, I think will be a decision. I’m really looking forward to more of these.
You write fantastic stories and get even better with each one. Thank you for the few enjoyable hours I took to read this latest ephisode.
Woah... I Am Awed
Your work always felt real to me
So so real!
Keep it up Always appreciate u could dobthis despite ur busy schedule..
A wonderful, yet sad story. I foolishly thought, well, you know, but no spoilers.
I hope you decide to publish these stories one day as i'd love repay all those engaging hours i've spent enjoying your writing.
Thanks
I remember reading 14 hours and how funny it was and I loved it. I find that these stories are even better, even if they are heart breaking at times. Love your work, you are a truely gifted story teller.
Your mastery of characterization, storytelling, and realism never fails to captivate. You are truly blessed with such talent in writing.

Outstanding!
Beguiling tales by a true master of the art. Looking forward to the next installment.
I can't believe you have any other day job except being a screenwriter in Hollywood.
I loved this entire series. You should shop it to Netflix or Amazon. It would make a great series, you wouldn't even have to trim the sexy bits
This has brought me back to Literotica. I used to read other genres but I feel like I need more lately, and this fits the bill
very good story every aspiring writer should read this 10 percent of these skills woul make anyone a master
I'm tempted to print the story on A4 then put in the right order timewise. sofar just skipping the "earlier bits" but that's annoying too...
This series could be made into a series of movies, a network television serial series, lots of possibilities...if this is your hobby, what indeed is your day job?
Phenomenal story telling. Perfect balance of realism and impossible outcomes make it a very wonderful reading experience. Thank you
So glad I found this story because it took just a bit to figure out the flow of the story, but once that was done I just had to read straight through to the ending. There were some red herrings thrown every once in a while, but it just made it more interesting. Nothing like the good ol boys in the backwoods. Thought I might hear some banjo music in the background for a bit, lol. Well done, thanks
This series deserves to be published. I've read books from renowned authors that weren't as engaging as this set of short stories. The detail the author uses, even the little things, are the hallmark of someone who knows, who cares, and has learned how to tell one hell of a story. Tremendous experience from beginning to end.
A bit messy compared to previous stories. There were some exciting fast moving parts, along with some not truly plausible parts.
What I liked most was the couple of pages where Midge described her very real struggle with postpartum depression. It was very touching. I remember my wife fighting with that struggle. Your description was insightful.
An amazing series. It's a shame there aren't more stories but I'm thankful we have the ones we do.
Reading this series again, but realised I didn’t leave a comment after the first time through, this is a truly outstanding piece of work, it locks the reader in and we want to follow it through to the end, in one go if I’m anything to go by. Your characters are real and multi dimensional, the plot is intricately put together and we get a sense of place with the locations you depict, apart from the odd typo it’s hard to see where there’s any room for improvement to be honest. I enjoyed this story immensely, giving it a 5⭐️ the first time around, although sadly due to Lit’s voting rules I can’t vote again or my previous vote is erased, but my original judgement was bang on the money.
Many thanks for writing this series and for leaving the stories here foc for us to read/reread, cheers, Ppfzz.
