This whole story! When I started rooting for Berta and Teague to hook up, I knew for sure I was obsessed with your writing because I hate straight stories (yawn) but not this time. I'm really loving this story. I was slow to start reading it because the title sounded weird (and not in a good way). I love the well developed characters and the humor. This part just made me laugh:

"...gay little puddle of gay surrender".

OMG, the moment when tough Indie suddenly sounded scared... and Preston's loyalties promptly turned on a dime and he offered to beat up the guy who'd upset his South Pole!

I've been enjoying all of your installments, they're great. I'm commenting on this one because it took me way too long to realize it was Indie's POV for the car ride to the event. It made so much more sense for it to be Preston riding with them to the birthday outing and that guess worked really well for awhile. Once I worked out that it wasn't Preston I had to reread a pretty big portion.
