This story was just..... wonderful. The build up from all the teasing and foreplay in part one was perfect. Actually wished this was just as long as part one! I agree with TSreader, would love to see a part three to this.

I was worried for a bit back there that our gentleman might do something terribly problematic with (or to) our young lady, but despite the teasing in the story our author had him avoiding making that error. Well done.

I think just about every other commenter has said that our clever author should return to the keyboard and produce a further chapter. I would counsel against doing so. Finish on a high while you're ahead, Mr Squeeze.

I speak from painful experience. Unless an author is really motivated to continue the story and has well-formed ideas for doing so, a chapter purely in response to others' requests is unlikely to be satisfactory from the author's viewpoint and it probably won't satisfy those who requested it either.

I did it once. Never again.

Anyhow, I thought the two chapters were both very sweet and especially well written.

It's certainly possible that you don't have any interest in a third part, and I wouldn't encourage you to write it just for the readers. But I think the story calls for another part, one the story as it is has heavily foreshadowed, in which this couple, having put to rest each member's doubts, faces the doubts of the rest of the world. You shouldn't write part 3 just for the story's sake either. But if you find it in you to write it sometime, please do.

This story has built well across the 2 parts and has reached a logical conclusion. Although I'm not so sure about buying the $4000 gift rang true

You have avoided the usual rush to conclude and the scene with the ex wife in Zoe's bathrobe was excellent - suitably vicious.

I haven't looked any of the other comments. They may be snarky, but I think this is a beautiful love story where Zoe's character is revealed mostly in the thoughts of the narrator. She comes across as very strong.

I was expecting a very sad story -- and I almost didn't finish it because I'm not in the mood for a tearjerker. I did finish it and I loved the ending!

I think maybe it's Jo Stafford, she have a splendid voice.

And i like the story very very much.

Had to dock you a star for the suggestion that the True Grit remake is worth watching: except for the "we don't want to do Rooster Cogburn" ending, it's a scene-for-scene, location-for-location remake except for the lead actor mumbling all through the movie. What was the point? Watch the original.

Half a lifetime ago, the love of an amazing 19-year-old cured me of a decade of off and on depression. If it can do that for me, I have no problem believing that it could cure this story’s narrator of being a heartless, manipulative dick. A love story with redemption and a happy ending—what’s not to like? 5 stars.

What a laughably terrible ending to an otherwise fine story. Cringe-worthy.

Wow. Part 1 was awesome. It was different than I expected...different in a good way. When I started Part 2 I was already sad that there would be no Part 3 and there were only 4 pages to Part 2. Still...Things were going great. Unfortunately, it kind of fell apart for me.

I absolutely fucking love these two characters.

I loved it until he slept with his ex yes I understand the emotions an I didn’t like how he let his ex berate her an be so vicious at 18 ure self esteem is so fragile I’m surprised she gave him the time of day she could do a million times better but it ended well he redeemed himself by being totally honest an the proposal.
