Out of the Night

Thank you to everyone interested and invested in this series! Here’s a Key I’ve been using while writing for reference:

Demons: monsters born of demon magic, usually enemies of the mage, demons created vampires to cause mayhem and generally disrupt mortal life

Vampires: Demon spawn, can live an unknown amount of time, but usually get killed after a few hundred years, survive on human blood, very little self control, lowest class of demon

Berserkers: Shapeshifters that are driven by rage, prefer the form of a bear, supernatural strength

Mages: mortals with an innate connection to magic, can use magic to survive for thousands of years

Melissa: May’s roomate

Marco: Uber driver

Brewman: Vampire abductor, bearded, council bodyman

Michael: Vampire abductor, Clean shaven

Damien: Cursed Mage (Vampire Mage), dark features, tattooed with runes, dark red eyes

Carlos: Vampire, council emisary

Rose: Vampire, bodyman/woman, handsome, muscular and tall, brutally loyal to the council

Dagr: Dark Mage who cursed Damien

Council members: Aja (current head), Miles (Second in line to power)

Adam: Damien’s ‘brother’ and Cursed Mage created by Dagr. He was a village boy sent to the temples when he displayed a natural gift for magic. Unlike the vampires, Adam can shapeshift, usually into a bear. (Berserker Mage)

Emil: The butler. Owes Damien a life debt. Works for Damien, doing his dirty work and acquiring his blood supply.

Jasser: Damien’s oldest friend and fellow mage, like a brother, they grew up together within the order learning magic

Vladimir: Damien’s oldest half-brother, loyal to the old religion and mystics, rules as czar after his father until he is murdered. Backed by the Volkhv Order (society of mages)

Simeon “The Great”: Damien’s half-brother and current ruler of Bulgaria

Boris I: Damien’s, Vladimir’s, and Simeon’s father. Converted to Christianity and became a monk. When Vladimir tried to reinstate the old religion, Boris left the monastery to assist Simeon in overthrowing the old regime.
