Interests - real cider, single malt whisky, chocolate, romance, beautiful full-figured women, vernacular, Gothic and Art Deco art and architecture, classic cars, steam locomotives and all things railway heritage, aeroplanes, mechanical engineering, pipe organs, music of the Romantic and post-Romantic eras (i.e. mid 19th to mid 20th century - Wagner, Bruckner, Mahler, Sibelius, Debussy, Ravel, Vaughan Williams, Howells are a few favourites), some later things, big band swing, songs by the likes of Irving Berlin and Cole Porter, classic and prog rock, the French Classical (Couperin, de Grigny, Clerambault, d'Aquin etc etc...), some ambient/trance/whateveryoucallit (Brian Eno and William Orbit being two favourites), the English Renaissance (Tallis, Byrd, Tomkins, Gibbons...) British ecclesiastical history (though I am agnostic), real cider, single malt whisky and chocolate (did I mention those before?!)... yet to meet (unless I'm blind!) a soulmate who will understand, let alone share my passions, with whom I can commune on a cultural level.
