With a few exceptions, I tend to write longer stories, but that’s just my nature, I think. I’m going to try to tighten that up in the future. I know that means fewer people will read them, but I know that going in.

Also, I tend to write what I know. I’ve spent a lot of time in a lot of different places over the decades, and have been fortunate, usually, to experience a bunch of different things. In only a couple of my stories have I included cities or sights with which I haven’t had firsthand experience. I mention that because you’ll likely see Spain and Morocco pop up in several of my stories, and that’s because I’ve spent quite of bit of time in both…along with most major southern cities plus one or two in the Northeast.

I am in desperate need of pre-readers and editors. It’s always helpful to know if I’ve gone off the rails before I start trying to self-edit. Also it’s nice for people to say “this really didn’t work” or “are you sure you want to go that direction” or “this section didn’t add much value to the entire story, consider cutting it out or shrinking it.”

I welcome any and all constructive criticism as I hope to become better at writing. Not to become the next ‘great author’. Please. I like writing. I don’t know why. Hopefully, over time, I’ll get better and the audience here will enjoy them more. Pretty simple. Sometimes I write for the audience. Sometimes I write for me.
