Fun Fact: When hermit crabs find items suitable for homes, they pick them up and roll them around before making the switcheroo! They can examine these shells/containers/nests for, in human time, "longer than needed." The gentility of their little buggy faces as they intimately search the crevices and smooth the thing's surface, checking it all out, honestly, and sweetly, I'll say, it looks a little like they're making love to their new place to live <3
