We tell stories--to others and to ourselves--to try and understand the world and our place in it. I firmly believe that's how pantheons of gods were born: man's attempt at simplifying a complex structure.
This is no different.
We understad ourselves by writing, by reading. We remember that for as unique as we are, we're still subject to the same hopes and fears as some other citizen of the world.
And in understanding, we are entertained...
