I have been an ardent follower of this site for close to twenty years, albeit off and on. I have first written here as JJ Jadway. If you can recall the name from Irving Wallace’s book The Seven Minutes, lost the access to the email used to create that account, the company having gone under and so access to the Avatar. I spent some time ghostwriting in the living world, then back again as Cafune here.
Now I am here as Onsra Cafune and hope to stay longer. The world Onsra come from the Boro language, spoken mostly in Eastern India. It means that bittersweet moment when you love for the last time or realize your love won't continue.
Cafune is a Portuguese word meaning the act of caressing or tenderly running fingers through a loved one's hair.
I speak Hindi / Malay / smattering of Punjabi and Gujarati. Have always thought, wrote and spoken in English. Grew appreciating poetry of Dom Moraes, Nissim Ezekiel and prose of Maugham, Hemingway, Steinbeck.
