Click hereSometimes, we are taught on the battlefield that casualties are apart of war.
I am not in war right now.
My personal battles still bring in casualties.
The myth was that Dragons are wise and mighty.
Dragons are wild, but tempered by the mythical energies they control.
It doesn’t matter whether they breathe fire or brimstone.
Ice or acid.
The results still are the same.
The damage is substantial.
The myths say that Dragons cannot be hurt.
Their scales are solid against the daggers, swords and projectiles.
Yet, I hurt.
I bleed.
Still, I am but human.
Not wise nor mighty as the myths project.
And unlike the Dragons of yore, this dragon can pass on.
For the pain I have caused, I am ashamed and remorseful.
For the comforts I have provided, I am thankful and appreciative.
I have ways to go before I can stretch my wings again.
