They say some people have old souls, Suzanne displayed that in her understanding and kindness. Well done.

I'm 61 and this touched me greatly. Loved the story. I hope you write some more stories about the older man and younger women. Omg just the thought of tasting that younger woman is the biggest turn on of any story. Thank you

AnonymousAnonymous4 months ago

Excellently edited, brilliantly told. We need more stories like this!

Really enjoyed this. I'm similarly aged as your character Dan and, God forbid, if I were to lose my Lovely Bride, I would hope to meet someone that inspires me to go on living...whether sex is involved or not!!

First off, I have to say that no one should be put off by potentially a 63-year-old man getting it on with a 21-year-old woman because it's obvious that the 21-year-old woman is considered a full adult in society's eyes, and therefore she can do whatever she wants. It's way past the age of consent, and if that's what the girl wants to do, who is anyone else to condemn what she wants to do? So, I don't see the preface to the story as necessary.. although I do understand it. Also, I appreciate it on the level that some feminist and some females in general might look at that type of age difference and still say that the guy is taking advantage of her. I really appreciate that you write the story in such a way to make it plain that it is Suzanne effectively in some small way taking advantage of him.

***

I've noted several authors use a coffee shop as a trope for getting perhaps even two unlikely people together; it just seems logical, because a good coffee shop that is well run will have a lot of clientele, therefore increasing the likelihood two people could meet up and actually fall in love. So I appreciate a story like this, that gets away from the typical club or bar scene, because it creates a far more relaxed and believable atmosphere. It also does provide for lulls in the action, and the chances to interact with customers, even if that's all it is - - friendly interaction - - that leads to nothing else. That is why I can at least on the face of your premise, buy the story. I'm going to say now that as much as the romantic in me wants to totally accept it.. that it's not possible totally, in the ultimate sense. However, I will say that if two people really want to work something out, it is realistic that they could work it out regardless of their age. I personally know of one woman that is 15 years younger than the man she married and they are perfectly happy! Now, I've heard her complain several times what she's going to do if her husband dies but then, that's kind of the risk you take when anybody is older. However I digress.. and I need to get back to analyzing the story more.

I truly appreciate the care and concern you exercise in crafting this account, because it progresses in a natural fashion that increases reader buy-in, that Dan is a regular at the coffee shop, therefore he is going to attract more attention over time. Any place--just speaking of customer service in general--is smart for noticing their regulars, and will accordingly try to cater to them more. Now don't get me wrong: I'm not suggesting that just because someone is a regular that somehow they should get special service like this tale kind of segues into; I'm simply stating that it presents it as more logical that a worker there would notice a regular and therefore interact with that person more, and consequently know them well enough for something like this to happen. So, I adore how you set this up in theory. It's obvious that Suzanne is witty quick thinking, pretty.. and similar to his deceased wife; it is also obvious that Dan is not a bad-looking man, he's in decent shape, and he's not trying to come on to Suzanne at all. I would however point this out: I know there would be a couple of authors on this site that would scream bloody murder just because a story like this exists, because they're basically rabid feminists that believe that all guys exist only to take advantage of women in some way; I love how you really make Suzanne the aggressor here, because it's clear Dan is not trying to get in her panties! A lot of people too would point blank say wow.. this is way too big of an age gap to have any kind of sexual interaction possible- - which is why I applaud your forethought of prefacing Dan as not being so rich you would be a sugar daddy, nor trying to appear like one. The other thing I would like to say in general is that I applaud this kind of story in the sense that because of how rabid many feminists are just in general.. that any guy that's over a certain age would be considered creepy or pervy when a guy even if he's 90 and the girl is 20... is going to look. Looking definitely doesn't constitute a problem.. unless that guy is deliberately undressing that female in plain view of others. So for a man to really appreciate how any female looks regardless of her age is just perfectly natural and society needs to stop crucifying guys just for noticing. I couldn't tell you the number of times recently where some really stupid females have gotten on tiktok and tried to shame guys that looked at them for grand total of 2 seconds, turned away and never paid anymore attention to them.. and then they start making a video, trying to shame them on Twitter or on YouTube. Thankfully, most of the people that watch those videos actually hit back hard at the idiot female that's trying to shame the guy because maybe he just heard a noise in that direction, noticed her and just acknowledge she was there, then moved on. I'm frankly sick of it, and I'm sick of guys being painted as perpetual pervs, that only have one thing to do- - which in the opinion of the so-called feminists - - is to be completely creepy and pervy just because they exist in the same room as another female. But again I digress... you set up a comfortable dynamic between the two, and an understandable one, which I also adore. They just seem to click on an intellectual level, which is something Sometimes some authors totally lose track of. Now, I'm sure a few readers will disagree with my finding, but I analyze only on the story structure, not necessarily just because I like something or don't like it; I let the facts dictate how I should evaluate the story. If I were to say there were a weakness in the story, is that contrary to how the story progresses come I am seriously convinced there is no 21-year-old walking this planet that would do anything more than maybe just be nice and talk to a guy that's basically old enough to be her great grandfather. The world has just gone way too far to one extreme that even being a guy in the same room as another female is considered a possible case sexual harassment. I can see them having really lively conversations; I can see them sharing tons of jokes; I can see them even touching each other on the shoulder or the hand or the forearm... but there's just no way any story could sell me on this girl going for Dan. I'm really sorry to say it, because that's reality. Some people will say well because it's fiction, you have to suspend some amount of belief. I agree with that largely; however even fiction has to conform to reality to a certain point, because if you say one guy is able to rip off a hundred Brinks trucks and never get caught.. I would have to call b******* on that, strictly because every time you do something the independent probability goes up that the person would be caught strictly on the number of times it happens. So in real terms, I would have a really hard time believing that even a female of 30 years of age - - unless she has traveled the world say going to three or four different places and perhaps having learned a foreign language or two, even having had a better education than just a four-year degree - - that even under those circumstances, there might be some serious maturity shortfalls. Why do I say that? Because the problem is you have apps like Tinder where 80% to 85% of the females on there find the males unattractive. You can look that up: in fact, if you look at some of the appropriate videos from Courtney Ryan and Olivia Alexa, they quote this and they even show the statistics where you can find them. So in this age of instant gratification and super convenience, that's why it really Imperials even this story.

***

Since I believe I've more than made my point about the current abysmal dating situation, and the reality of interaction between males and females in the world in general, I'll make sure and get it back strictly to the story. The one thing I would certainly have to say that if there were one thing I would remove to improve the story would be to eliminate Dan talking to Suzanne in graphic sexual detail between him and his former wife; I say that because while it tittilates the senses, it kind of spoils the romance of the entire setting; it would have been better if she would have asked Dan about Brenda's maybe little idiosyncrasies or funny quirks, or even just general things about how they got along what, what they did together, and how they clicked mentally. The big reason for this is that once you get into Suzanne pursuing Dan sexually, is that really if you were totally get rid of the graphic retelling of Dan and Brenda's hottest coupling, you have more than sufficient spice if you will with them being in the shower, with them having sex multiple times, and with them sharing various sexual escapades together, which would have increased the sweetness of the story without it going overboard in the tawdry sense if you will. Furthermore, this kind of gift that Suzanne bestowed upon Dan really telegraphed the ending that somehow she was going to mysteriously leave, and it really Dan was going to remain lonely. The story suggests he made an attempt here there to contact older females his age, but the story clearly implies nothing worked out. That's why Suzanne leaving was something the story had to Telegraph. I would say that actually kind of hurt the story some too, because it would have been far more plausible that Dan could have met an older woman through eharmony, which actually does work in a lot of ways, and that Suzanne would have been around to to see it, kind of give it her blessing, and basically see Dan move on.

***

So, I really appreciate the vast majority of the ideas and principles applied in the story, because it puts both the male and female character on equal footing despite their age difference, and it avoids any awkwardness generated by what modern feminism would like to see happen. It presents him noticing her in a natural way, which is the way it should be, because actually she wants to be noticed. Most women do want to be noticed, and are perfectly capable of knowing when somebody is being creepy- - in other words when that person is stalking them and it's undesirable - - as opposed to an appreciative glance, and perhaps even a nice compliment about it. On the face of most of it, it's a very endearing story that's indulges in a little bit of fantasy that is largely believable. I can buy all of that. But what I can't buy is that no matter how charming Dan is, and no matter how many things this Suzanne possesses in the way of his former wife, is that she would be willing to give herself to him- - especially not in today's extreme setting of convenience to women where they have the most options they've ever had - but yet largely ignore just decent guys close to their own age. Therefore as much as I would love to rate this a maximum score, reality forces me to rate this no more than a 4, because when you research and look up topics like female hypergamy, and the statistics I mentioned about Tinder and other online dating apps, you'll find that this kind of interaction just never would have happened. I do however thank you for The bravery of this tale, and I appreciate the message you try to send with it, because really this kind of courage doesn't exist in large manner in many stories on Lit as of now. Certainly, continue writing and I have favorited the story and followed you, so I can see how you progress in stories you author here on the site. Thank you for your submission.

In my mental background, I thought of her being a grand-daughter. She couldn't be, guven his long marriage. But she was certainly an old soul.

This is a rare and beautiful piece of writing. The characters were deeply authentic and you wrote the conversations to feel real. Being close to the older age character, I can clearly feel his emotions throughout although I found they really hit home at the end of the shower. One of the things I found while reading this piece of work is that I could imagine the Suzanne character being more than she appeared and whether that was something supernatural you were considering or even playing around with in your head while creating this story, it is easy to feel it. Thanks for putting together a story that I shall be returning to read any times again.

Excellent story, the characters were very well developed and the way the story progressed seemed very natural and progressed in a natural manner and not forced. I really enjoyed reading it, and the story of his sexual experience with his wife and Suzanne, helping him to relive a little bit of the joy of a great memory was lovely. A great written story, thank you for sharing it with us.

I absolutely loved it, Suzanne realizing his situation, and giving him this wonderful gift, not only that evening, but to open him up to, not feeling alone, but to seek out new relationships.

A REAL feel good story.

I liked it a lot, no quirky gimmicks, no devices, no manipulation.

Just pure honest togetherness, meeting someone, truly connecting, finding common ground, and parting whilst having left each better for the experience.

The world needs more stories like this.

I think comentarista82 has some real issues. I picture comentarista82 as one who has an ego larger than their intelligence. I would bet they couldn't write a story that would be of interest to anyone. Their comments which are non intellectual , You blah, blah ,blah you poor sole.
