Beautiful story. Not entirely sure why it's in LW. Seems more like a Romance or a First Time type of story.

Thank you for sharing.

This was not only a great love story but it was also a wonderful 'period' piece. From the description, the characters are a year younger than me and I could relate to them falling for each other at the same time and same pace. My story was not so intense but I quickly fell for a girl I met at a party. Fortunately, we split up during my sophomore year 700 miles apart. While we never did the deed, she quickly mated with a guy, got pregnant, and split up with him three years later. We were immature - in some ways I still am - but it takes people with strong characters to make this work. It had to be 90%+ a true story! I am happy for you and your wonderful memories!

miket0422 - I went back and forth about what genre to put it in, and changed my mind several times. I started it as a first time story, but as it developed I wanted to focus more on the overall relationship. As you can see from my First Time story That Summer, I like to wrap things up neatly.

I am glad you put it in Loving Wives as this is the category I normally read. I really enjoyed this story on many levels. Very well written - 5 Stars!!!

I was very surprised to read this story on LW it was beautiful and very moving . I find most of the stories very hard to read about cuckolding and husbands wanting their wives to go to bed with other men . I agree it should have been in romance but definitely worth 5 stars. Well done

Beautiful story. 5⭐

A life-changing encounter. But why? How did it happen? We never know. The best thing is to appreciate the chance to find your partner.

Tx77TumbleweedTx77Tumbleweed11 days ago

In this story where fate took a hand, you managed to touch people who grew up in that era. That isn't easy to do. You were brave enough to put it in this category rather than Romance where getting five stars is not nearly as difficult as those you earned with this tale in LW.

LWLover60LWLover6011 days ago

I'm confused, I mean a story in LW where the wife is an actual loving wife and neither cheats on each other. Is that even allowed? Moderators - should this be moved to Science Fiction and Fantasy?

Great story. I do have to admit I was wondering when the other shoe would drop but never did.

BlueFox007BlueFox00711 days ago

What a wonderful story. Brings back all my memories of serving as a physician two years in that dreadful war and returning to a jaded society that ignored me and my companions from that awful experience. Six kids later, I still get to love the wonderful woman who helped me through that time. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Thank you all for your kind words. I poured a lot of myself into this (I got my orders to Vietnam the day I returned from my honeymoon) and I'm glad it brought you all so much enjoyment.

I choose the wrong category, though. I didn't read the LW description before choosing it as I have never written for it before. It should have been in the Romance category and I have asked Laurel to reclassify it.

What an unusual but for me a very welcome departure from the usual crap that is presented to readers in Loving Wives. No 12 inch dicks; no super-endowed black guy in the wife’s past, present, or future; no secret cuckold tendencies in a husband; no glorifying or revolting depictions of anal sex; no treachery from a close male friend; no obsession with a particular brand of automobile; no intricate employment of electronic gadgetry; no husband with a hidden background as a Navy Seal. No, not any of that erotic efusion from “writers’” mental cloaca but instead a portrayal of genuine and decent love.

I could argue about where the story is placed, but there is no debate in giving it five stars!

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

This story is an idyllic romance that is devoid of any interpersonal conflict other than the MC's war service, which is described in narrative form. As such, it is a curious choice for submission to the LW. What aspect of the story determined the author's decision to submit it to this category rather than to Romance?

Thank you. A beautiful "Coming of Age" type story. It reminded me of my early life in the 1970's. It was a by-gone age and many things were so much simpler then. Plus, with your story having a happy ending, something seldom encountered in "Loving Wives", the story was made so much better. Damn, perhaps I'm actually a romantic at heart after-all. LOL. Cheers.

Beautiful story. As I read, I found myself thinking of my own relationship with my wife of 34 years. It’s easy to get so caught up in the day-to-day (3 children & 3 grandchildren) that you loose sight of the wonderful journey that brought you to this point. Thank you for reminding me. I am in your debt. Well done! - 5 stars

This is a very well written love story! I truly enjoyed it. Some may question it's placement in the LW category. Sure it would fit neatly in other categories, but I'm glad the author posted it here. After all, Doreen was indeed a Loving Wife. So in the end, I think this story is right were it belongs. Thank you to the author. 5/5 BRB

Ok, this story probably should have been in Romance. But Loving Wives need happy ending occasionally to balance out the BTB.

This story is one of the best stories I've read here at Lit.

Everything about this story is sooo good.

This is the first story of the day for me and has me in a very good mood. Thanks for that and Thank You for writing this story.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

Sorry, but I only gave you a three star rating as this has absolutely nothing to do with this category. This is supposed to be about wives having sex with others. This story should have been in romance.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

Great story, wrong category.

Vietnam a perfect picture of the best of us and the worst of us.

The best.....All the soldiers that won the battles even in the face of knowing they weren’t allowed to win.

The worst....The scumbag politicians that didn’t enter the war.....(what a joke) to win. Instead they

Called it a police action. They all deserve to rot in hell. Maybe if their sons were the ones dying on the battle fields they would havetreated it like a war and fought to win and end it. Bunch of cowards hiding in the background. After the stop of hostilities they should have all been lined up against a wall and shot. As for the Canadian group they would still be Canadian. Never to be allowed back ever.

I think your great story is just fine in LW. Not all stories to to have wife as a cheating bitch, nor abusing a mentally ill cuck husband. A real loving wife story is hard to find. Again, great story.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

Should be in Romance instead of LW

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

That was excellent.

Would that they could teach this story in high school… it is so real and would help so many in their entry into adulthood…

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

Decent story just in the wrong category

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

Wow a real loving wife story. No BTB. Just a happy story with a very happy ending.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

A very nice story about Romance. And that's the category this story should be in. Its a great Romantic tale, why not let people who are looking for Romance stories find it, where it belongs? An easy 5 rating in the Romance category. A very very weak Loving Wives story. Reconsider.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

If this was in another category never would have read it.

Wow, what a beautiful “fairy tale”! Almost too bad for “LW”! It's really refreshing to read a story in which two people find each other and can't let go of each other! Reading "LW" it seems strange that there should be people who can only get along with one partner for the rest of their lives. 5*!

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

If only more loving wives were actually loving. 5 stats.

Ignore those that say this belongs in romance. We need more wholesome wives, not hole some wives.

BillandKateBillandKate10 days ago

I love it when a true loving wife is in the LW category. Don't listen to the snarky "it's in the wrong category" police. Thanks for a sweet 5 star loving wife story.

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

I couldn't believe it when I read "vw guy". When I met my now wife of 42 years she was dating a guy who drove a VW who wanted her badly but she kept holding him off. He finally had enough and left her to be with an easy piece while out on a date. I was just about ready to make her decide - him or me but he made that choice for me. So glad VW guys screw up!

AnonymousAnonymous10 days ago

"Ignore those that say this belongs in romance." - Anonymous

-

Why would anybody advise somebody to ignore a truthful comment?

-

There are different categories for stories for a good reason. Not only does ignoring the category definitions make it harder for people who want to read this kind of story to find it, but it also creates unrealized expectations that disappoint the readers who do find it.

-

It's a lose-lose situation for the writer, so please, for their sake, don't give them such bad advice.

I'll post this again and hope you all read it.

I know it's in the wrong category and have asked Literotica to relabel it as Romance. I should have read the description better.

JoeBetterBNiceJoeBetterBNice9 days ago

I did not mind this story being in Loving Wives. I don't know the official description, but this was a wife that loved her husband, AND, I was entertained. Very sweet. Thanks for writing.

JoeBetterBNiceJoeBetterBNice9 days ago

After seeing multiple complaints about this story being in the wrong category, that made me wonder what the definition for the category is. The only thing I could find was "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more." which is how the category is described on the general info page. I figure this fits in the "& more" part. For those complaining, the majority of stories I read in LW are cheating wife stories, not swinging stories. If one takes a narrow definition of the category, all those cheating stories are "wrong for the category" also, as leaving off the "& more" part restricts this category to only swinging and cuckold/cuckqueen stories. Maybe another definition is floating around somewhere though?

AnonymousAnonymous9 days ago

Very refreshing!

SultanEnochSultanEnoch9 days ago

The "Loving Wives" should be changed to "No So Loving Wives". A Loving wife would be much by being a truly loving, loyal, honest and caring". This story belongs here. It may start a paradigm shift where things are called their true names.

This is a very beautiful story of young maturity, wisdom, right emotions and right decisions.

A well deserved 5 stars

RustyReaderRustyReader9 days ago

Sweet as can be. Thanks

AnonymousAnonymous9 days ago

I see that in response to some of the comments, you've asked the moderator to move this story to "Romance." That's your choice, of course, but please know that if it had been placed there to begin with, we who read LW wouldn't have seen it and been totally charmed and heart-warmed by it. My contention is that your wonderful story is totally appropriate for "Loving Wives" because Doreen is an incredibly loving wife. Maybe the moderator could find a way to post it in Romance and leave it here as well. If I could give you 10 stars, I would, but I'll settle for five. A beautiful story, beautifully told. I now want to read all your other works.

Not my cup of tea so not the best judge. Thought for a romance story it was pretty good so 4 stars for me.

AnonymousAnonymous9 days ago

@JoeBetterBNice - What you seemed to have missed is that the definition your read includes two key factors to define a Loving Wives story. The first key is also the first word: married. They allow committed girlfriend and fiancee stories, although I personally disagree with that decision because neither of those relationships actually invoke the same level of entanglement as being married. The second key is actually the second term: extra-marital. Whether it's cheating or approved, these stories involve sex outside of the marriage. Thus, a true loving wife story is never a Loving Wives story.

-

Now, where the actual contention comes in is deciding where best a cheating wife story fits. My contention is that it takes more than just those two factors to make a true Loving Wives story. The most important characteristic of what I consider a Loving Wives story is the marital drama. Why else does it require its own category? If you're swingers and happy as clams with no marital strife about it, it's just another Group Sex story. If she's fucking the boss for a promotion and the husband is happy to eat the creampie when she gets home, that's just another Fetish story. If he's happy to suck her bull's dick, well, that's just a Gay Male story in disguise, unless he wears her lingerie while doing so, which would make it a Transgender & Crossdressers story instead. In other words, in my opinion, if the focus of the story is on the sexual acts and/or scenarios then putting it in a category to match that focus is the best choice. Leave Loving Wives for the marital drama llama stories, whether they manage to stay together or not.

-

Now, the really contentious part of my opinion is that while true reconciliation (which needs a shorter designation), DTB, and BTB are appropriate for Loving Wives, RAAC actually isn't. The reason I say that is that RAAC is a misnomer as it doesn't actually involve reconciliation despite standing for Reconciliation At All/Any Cost. In reality, it's just a surrender. There is no resolution of the conflict; there is just acceptance that it will continue. Based on that, RAAC stories belong in NonConsent/Reluctance rather than Loving Wives.
