While sitting on
the hood of my car
I saw
a shooting star

I made my wish
and it's coming true
But I'm not finished
paying my due

Marriage isn't easy
it takes two
And with the first amendment
that freedom of speech
I made a mistake
OK...a FEW

But you can't take
our love back
like something
bought from a store

It's not just "a piece of
paper and a ring"
it's a whole lot more

And while the leaves
sparkled and glistened
In the light of the moon
I was thinking
I should have listened
for it ended to soon

Many mistakes
could have been missed
And many times
our lips could have kissed

But since you can't
UN-love someone
I'll wish on a star
to help me get it done
And will not stop
until i'm your number one
