As for a comment on the technical aspects, I might suggest eliminating these redundant lines "where his needs and wants
can’t bring me down"
and going right to the conclusion you state so well although the image (wings-flying) is apt but somewhat trite due to its overuse in songs and common expression, might there be another form of release and escape for our heroine?
