Whatever the war,

between couples that fight

or nations armed to the teeth,

victory can indeed be bittersweet.

i was told recently

amid tales of tears and waste

of all things to consider

that bittersweet is an adult taste

how ironic is it then

if we think through it

that so often it is childishness

what leads us to it

All victories are suspect ~ does anyone ever really win.
