Excellent example of employment of alliteration; pulls the reader in just to continue to hear the sounds you've generated here.

not too much, just enough to make it a great read.

I love alliteration and this offers so much more. The frozen mind and thaw of imagination, or coming back to life after a cold spell. I can relate. Nice!
