Mutt, what can I say, but well done! I'm not much of a writer, and even less of a poet. So, I don't read a lot in the poetry section here, but this is really some very cool stuff. You should be proud.
Followed the link in Doormouse's sig to the story. It wasn't until about halfway through that I realized it was a poem.
Excellent work, excellent story line.
That was the first poem I've read on this site, and I hope they are all as good!

"If only he'd read this now,.... whatever, thank you Mutt"

Oh my god I can't stop crying, thank you hon. I wish I'd told you that he and I have broken up before you wrote this. I'll take it to the grave, thank you.
If only he'd read this now,.... whatever, thank you Mutt. I love you. You are such a fantastic friend, you have no idea how much this means to me.
Okay, grabbing the tissues now ;)
credit where credit is due. I normally don't like the long lines and clear rhymes, but this one worked for me. It didn't sound forced and I have to admire the work put into it. Nice job!
Visual, passionate and warm! I could feel the heart beat of the dragon as the drama unfolded!
...Longfellow's nephew, (or the mutt has cannabis seeds in his dogdish again).
It made me grin.
