It’s so clear,
In your eyes,
I see everything,
You expect me to be.

All the things you wish,
For me to achieve,
They are so unrealistic,
How can I tell you this?

I’m told repeatedly,
That the things I’ve done,
Will one day come back to haunt me,
And yet I don’t regret any of it.

You tell me you know better,
Because you’re the adult,
With age comes wisdom?

One day the blinds fall away,
From my eyes and I see,
That everything you did was all for me.

I wish I could say thank you,
I wish I could mean it,
Most of all I wish you were still here.

loved it.

Sometimes we try to impress - sometimes we will never live up to others, wants. sometimes we exceed them, the journey through all that takes its toll, and leaves its angst - well expressed lovely poem
