I see the differences all around me,
perhaps it's just my focus.
These "real-lifers" get together,
they swarm around just like the locusts.
"Sure, I wear my leathers,
I sport my whips and chains,
they're out when I'm at the grocery,
my umbrella covers them when it rains.
Oh no, I can't touch your hand.
My master will prevent it.
I'm not allowed to watch that porno,
unless I've been commanded to go rent it.
You'll find me kneeling at the mall,
I say 'master' to any man.
I'm desperate to make you see
I'm trying to follow this S/M plan."

So where do I fit in?
I like to use my brain.
I can't stop poking holes,
it's harder to explain.
I'd love to join you at the dungeon,
but why not keep it closed?
There's no reason that every Joe Yuppie,
needs to be exposed.
I like to think it's secret,
a special box under my bed.
But I end up feeling left out
and lonely, instead.

Still I can't quite come to be
someone who can't admit
that all of this is role-playing
whether you hang on a cross or sit.
I'd like to mix it all together
but still, everything in place.
Go about my nerdy-girl day,
without a single S/M trace.
