Boy, it must have been raining when you wrote this poem. It made me feel sad, lonely, and grey. It is a good thing when a poem makes me feel something.

So, did he die? Is she looking forward to being with him in the after life?

By the way, I would never curl up down my cellar, there are way too many spiders (lol).
