I have to say that I found your previous work walking an ordinary trail many times. Here I see reflection, intrigue and strong emotional creativity. A poem to be reckoned with. Good work in all areas.

As usual, unusual

with levels of complexity

breathtaking when seen,

while for others, unseen...

first off I aplogize for those that left a pile of worded manure on your comment section but the poem is so full of beauty and frageranted that it shines above anyones mere opinion. It is a wonderfully written piece of literary art, an expression of thoughts in words that is so ...poetic <grin>

You obviously haven't lived in an area populated by deer.

while I tend to agree with Anonymous in Wherever about dear in the road and 30.06's

I don't cotton much to zero leavers with out names, shows a lack of guts

A damn 5 just for spite

A 30-06 would have gotten that darned buck out of the road in a heartbeat. It would have been a boon for the species too. Foolishly standing in the middle of the road when a car is bearing down on the animal is definitely not a survival trait the buck should pass on to any progeny. And a good shot would provide many fine meals for the travelers too.

Seriously, too much fluff, too little substance. Keep trying.

. . . and wonderfully delicate as well.
