you have

my condolences, Sack.

This is a sad and touching poem. The last stanza, in particular, was quite moving.

What a beautiful

and terrible poem, Sack. My heart goes out to you for your loss.

Dear Sack-

I resisted reading this when it first appeared,( because the death of my own mom is still so vivid in my own mind) but after I got your note, I couldnt NOT read it.

This poem, although so very sad, is probably one of your very best poems. I love the way you have a separate message in the form of single lines. Your mother would most certainly be proud of you.

giant hugs,

I am so sorry about your mother.

I'd like to comment on the poem itself. I'd like to put aside that this is so personal. As far as poetry goes, it's not only good, but those last few stanzas are powerful.

In the distance, plugs are pulled

and sheets attempt to cover

what never was intended to be seen...

Yet, I must look forever

At hands that loll awkwardly

the odd twist of the jaw

Deep wrinkled caverns under the closed eyes

Purple blotchy arms and legs

Mother and son are together again

transcending the dull reality

You need to leave now sir...

Don't worry

I was never here

And neither was she...
