Round we go
Always rolling
Traveling far
Yet going nowhere
Wheel of man
Turning

Aye!

You have said it, my brother. I see us as continually plodding along in aimless progress, yet we continue to delude ourselves by seeing our lives as more than that of a gerbil on a wheel. Ironically, this is why we go nowhere. It is leaving transformation in the hands of those who would defend the status quo.

Have you ever read my poem Birthday? It continues this theme though it is from the perspective of the first few moments of life. I think I'll try to do a few more to form an arc with this concept. Thanks for inspiring me yet again Harry!

Big wheels keep on turning

(stealing that line before Tazz uses it). The idea of this is good, but I don't think it's done - there are a couple of extra words in this and personally I prefer "human" over man . Plus, I can't help but consider all those people crushed under the wheel. Not sure it's progress at all. (ok, enough of my morose thoughts today)
