Stair Case

Twisted footsteps turn
on spiral risers, rails
channel hands
in vertical escalation
an ascent amid
horizontal steel
as flesh emerges
galvanized
above the distant
chain linked base.

Windless air
climbs behind motion,
beyond scale
clambers toward
an amber sky
finally to tower
in twilight
until nightfall spirals
upon us.
