All "artists" think they are on the outer edge of something. This is not to say that you are not on the edge of something, or the subject of your poem is not on the outer edge. Of something.

But the poem seems like the kind of thing that is always said about proto- or neo- artists. The main message seems to be: "I am different! Dammit, I am!"

Well, then do something different instead of telling me you are different.

Sorry. Not meaning to be a downer here, particularly, but I'd also suggest you lose the lower case thing. Looks too arty.

You have some good stuff going on in your poems. This one is too consciously proclaiming yourself as Poet, at least for my taste. (Others, may, of course, differ.)

Just an opinion. Delete at will.

gave me a crazy idea for a poem i might try. All about how some people judge art (in all forms) by how closely it aligns to common standards, but since it is so common, it lacks value to me as a personal preference. I like Lennon singing Lennon, not Barry Gibbs, but it might be cool and different is Ozzy tried some Lennon. Just a thought, you are a consistently strong poet in my estimation of the universe and I always look for your stuff.
