Click hereGive me a concrete example,
she argued with much heat.
All the time that is wasted,
it’s hot, and we are both sweating,
and my head hurts,
all the time we have waited.
You have nothing to say, you see,
she adds, but no one is winning.
The air is so ethery -
when did I hear this word first?
We are both dipped in it.
How come I have not noticed it until now?
Her eyes are shining deep maple
(I always loved her eyes),
Can we take a break?
my stomach hurts again…
You are always so concrete,
she says,
as she leaves,
every thing hurts much more.
I feel as though I've peeked in on a very private moment; as if I'm standing behind a door slightly-cracked and watching with one eye. Speaking of eyes 'her eyes shining deep maple'...I love that description (as a brown-eyed woman, I appreciate the 'deep maple' description as I find it is fresh and vivid). Certainly, everything hurts more when we argue with our beloved. Expressive and emotional--another great read Y!
what a way you have of saying it as it is... and as many will dare to admit. when you are arguing w/your most loved one - it hurts. you want it over. you want some resolution - but at the same time you just can't stop thinking about how much you love them and wish the argument wasn't neccessary and that time 'wasted' arguing could be spent -- just loving.
Unfortunately, arguments can be so upsetting; yet needed in order to maintain a balance of understanding, not taking one's presence for granted; to set boundaries...
I only hope she had indeed returned her pretty vision back onto you my friend...
..have a way of hitting the nail on the head with a velvet hammer. This is very touching.
