He stepped forward completely rejuvenated. The large diamond in his right ear sparkled brightly despite the fact that no direct sunlight was upon it.
"I am Chance Goodwin, and what you have just witnessed was my renewal being connected again with the ring of power. I have regained my youth and power."
John stepped forward and extended his hand, "I am John Smith, Master of the Ring of Power."
"You are but a boy and no master," Chance said as he grab John by the wrist and hurled him across the room and into the nearby wall.
Denise and Elizabeth stood frozen in their places. John pulled himself out of the crater in the wall he'd created. He tensed preparing to defend himself just as he was lifted into the air and thrown down to the floor with enough force to knock him unconscious.
The large black man looked over at the two women and took a few steps towards them.
"Elizabeth my beloved wife, our plan worked, just as you said it would." He stretched out his arms and Elizabeth ran into his embrace.
...
"John, Johnny! Wake up!"
John was slowly regaining consciousness. His head hurt and he wasn't able to move.
"That's it son, wake up. Don't try and use your powers, not yet. I will explain, do you understand?"
In his mind John answered his father, "Got it." He tried to look around but found that he had been completely immobilized.
"What do you remember?" His father asked.
"Meeting the giant Chance Goodwin and then getting tossed around the room like a rag doll." John replied as he was beginning to focus his eyes.
"It's good that you remember. It seems that you have been betrayed."

unclebeardy3 months agoThe story is about a teenager who has suddenly had a role thrust upon him with no preparation or guidance. He's going to make mistakes. His companions are in the same position. It does need editing, but not enough to get in the way of a good story.
Anyone butthurt and posting ad hominem attacks on the author because he criticised the propaganda factory that is FoxNews, and repeating so many of their proven lies isn't much of a loss.
It seems that the author hasn't posted anyting since 2020. I hope that he is well and just taking a rest from writing.
wrc264over 1 year agoThis story absolutely needs an editor to fix all the grammar, misspellings, wrong syntax, etc. Also, it is so too bad to learn this author is a liberal leftist. Must be one of those guys who believes in abortion up to the last minute when the cord is cut, or is happy that gas prices have almost doubled, and everything costs wise have gone up 20%. Just lovely.

But I did remove it from my favorites list though, ... ;-) TTFN

Anonymousover 2 years agoI find it interesting that someone who can't even get through one page without at least a dozen misspelled words and painfully butchered syntax would have the nerve to sneak in a cheap shot about FOX News. It's OK for them to give only the leftist view but to give an opposing view is anathema to them. Well, the dems are in charge now so you can expect higher unemployment and taxes. Until the author decided to get political. I don't agree with every thing FOX says... but I do a thing they are better then other news souses. I don't like my erotica ejected with the authors political point of view.
Next time leave this stuff out of your story.

disableddanabout 9 years agoBut you're so far off base about the Fox network that I doubt you've ever watched it for longer than 3 minutes. I can only assume that you've been brainwashed by (P)MSNBC, the Daily KOS, or some other extreme left wing kool aid dispensing website. Fox is not the one who has to print retractions, corrections, and apologies on a near-daily basis.... it is your left wing smear sites who do. You desperately need to get some facts straight.
