I enjoyed the movie - It took me back to the days of the Early 70's. I loved the music and will probably buy the soundtrack.
I enjoyed "Across the Universe," bought the soundtrack, and plan. to see it again. However, I thought the plot was predictable and some possibly interesting plot lines, like the lesbian longings of beautiful Prudence (TV Carpio), were never exploited. Nor did I feel the whole anti-war sentiment of the day was properly addressed. But hey, it's a romantic musical, not a drama.
"Across the Universe" is not to be missed by anyone who ever sang along to a Beatles song. If you have a teenage daughter, she will perhaps love it even more than an old Beatles fan will. The musical performance are virtually all excellent.
And the final "All you need is love" scene rocked!
