And that great Sylvie, Charles, and all the other members of both families, including Cain and Beth, what understanding and love can achieve about relationships and life, now have to make up for lost time, about 22 wasted years by the fear in a moment so important in their lives as it is to have a daughter in common and not to have been able to face the moment in that time.

I remember when I confronted my parents when I told them that I was getting married, and also when I told them I was going to have a child, three years later. My mother took it for almost 15 years to accept it.
