Simply beautiful. You've rendered quite effectively and succinctly what happens in dissociative cases. I'm glad to see that you've left most of the "Hollywood" drama out of your story and made it instead a story of coming back on top for the victim.

I started reading it because the background is familiar to me. Your characters, however, are a bit flat, especially your main character, Michelle. I could not see her and because of that I did not feel for her as I needed to in this type of story.

I'm a survivor of sexual abuse so this story made me angry. My abuser tried to murder me and I wanted to kill the bastard in your story. It amazes me that there are men like this out there, but there are, albeit this is a work of fiction.
