That she should tell Charlie what Carson threatened her with crossed her mind only once and that was fleeting. She ignored her conscience, filed Charlie's warning away, promised herself once again that this would end it all, and made it final. She would do this thing.

As she drove toward home, stopping to pick up Christine, her mind was whirling with the magnitude of what she planned. She was alternately pleased that the promotion was hers and the extra money would convince Charlie that they should have a brother or sister for Christine, and then saddened that she would have to betray Charlie to make it happen. She quickly put that out of her mind as she had before. Charlie would never know and so wasn't an issue.

Her path set, her betrayal of her husband now in motion, Layla saw only her own ambitions and goals. Charlie was pushed into the background and was no longer a factor in her decisions.

It's funny how she felt "physically ill" about the proposition. But still did with relative ease...

Typical from TheCuck...

Of course he lives these characters, they embody his fantasy. An amoral, betraying slutwife, and a pathetic simp who despite his warning of "consequences" will take her back and feed on cream pies.....

In the authors preamble he says he Wes reluctant to use this story in his consequences series because the MC’s didn’t fit the criteria and he liked the couple.

She cheated on her husband twice voluntarily, the second time for greed, how does her actions not fit the criteria?

If that’s the kind of person the author admires it sort of makes you wonder.

Typical stuff for this writer. Female lead is shit, but author likes the character , and lauds her exposition in words. Promoting cuckolding much?

Telling

A telling observation... “ Life for Charlie was perfect and Layla was content.“

What spouse is ecstatic that their beloved is just content?

Low moral standards

No I don't mean the characters in the story! I mean THE AUTHOR! How can you like

'Layla' The essence of this woman is spoiled, selfish slut. Charlie deserves a real woman, not a cheap whore! I was expecting a little more from Layla but a thorough burning is in order, however, given the corrupt and evil family court system I guess Charlie is in for a 'roasting' How can you 'like' the 'Layla' character she is evil incarnate and a nasty example for her poor daughter. Well told story but your assessment of the characters was faulty and more than a little annoying. I gave some stars but they were not for your opinion of the charcters!
