How did we jump from Xmas Eve to New Year's Eve in a couple of lines

I felt like jumping perspectives and repeating the same thing that had been stated in the paragraph before really pulled me out of the story.

Also, your time jump really pulled me out. It was Christmas Eve, then Christmas and they were having sex at bedtime... and then New Year's?
